Ardlearag suits families and larger groups wanting serious mountain scenery without leaving their living room. The house is timber-clad and designed around its setting: you enter at the back, but the real draw is the front, where floor-to-ceiling glass frames the loch and the peaks beyond. An Teallach lies a few miles away, and views stretch across to the Scoraig peninsula and Beinn Ghobhlach. This is landscape on a large scale, and the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space is built to make the most of it.
Four bedrooms and three bathrooms mean space to spread across eight guests, with one well-behaved pet allowed. A utility room by the entrance handles muddy boots and waterproofs after days exploring the surrounding hills and lochs. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The nearest village is Garve; Ullapool, Assynt and the coastal settlements around Gairloch with their beaches are within reach for longer outings. This is remote Highland terrain, uncluttered and demanding of your attention—exactly what appeals to people who come here.

This property is in a stunning location with great views up and across Little Loch Broom. However it's cheaply furnished and in need of refurbishment. Badly equipped unless you are a 5yr old, plenty of plastic kitchen ware and toys. The door out on to the patio was not usable and we were told that this was not an issue, I think H&S may say otherwise as this only left one exit! The really generous welcome pack consisted of a packet of 6 biscuits. The log burner was filthy, couldn't see through the glass as it was black, in need of a good clean! They only left us 4 logs! Tv is useless, can't watch anything live, everything has to be streamed. Not one we would recommend or revisit👎🏼

A stunning modern, sustainably conscious holiday let in a remote location with loch view. Located in between Gairloch and Ullapool, this property was the perfect base for two weeks of Highland exploration.

What a place to stay! This is just what we needed, it's quiet, off the beaten track, and somewhere we can totally detach and switch off from work.
