Borve House
Highland
Borve House suits families wanting a proper base for the west Highland coast, or groups of friends looking for somewhere spacious to themselves. The whole place is yours, with three bedrooms spread across the ground floor: two doubles and a third with twin singles, plus a bathroom and separate toilet. One dog can come along free of charge.
The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking, and a utility room handles washing and all the muddy outdoor gear. Downstairs, the living and dining room opens onto decking through patio doors, with an open fire for evening warmth once the sun sets. Electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included; there's initial fuel for the fire too. Parking for three cars sits on site. The enclosed garden has furniture and direct access to Sanna Beach just beyond—a five-hundred-yard walk through dunes to sand and sea.
The setting is remote but deliberate: the Corran Ferry crossing and scenic drive through Sunart gets you here, with Ardnamurchan Point at the peninsula's tip and views across the loch where sea eagles hunt. On clear nights the Northern Lights can appear from the garden. Days out reach Mull by ferry from Lochaline, or north to Skye and Eilean Donan Castle. Smoking is not permitted in the property.
