Dondies House

Highland

The Ardnamurchan peninsula is quiet enough that you can feel genuinely remote, yet close enough to Skye, Mull and the mainland to base yourself here for exploring. Dondies House sits in Kilchoan looking out towards Sanna Bay, with castles, islands and open moorland across the water. The landscape around here tells its own story—dormant volcanoes underlie the ground, and the peninsula has the kind of emptiness that makes watching for the Northern Lights feel plausible.

The cottage is one bedroom and one bathroom, laid out on a single storey. Inside, the living space combines the sitting room, dining area and kitchen in one open plan, with a wood burner for warmth, a smart TV, and all the basics for cooking. The bedroom has a double bed. The shower room includes a heated towel rail. Parking is on site for one car, and one well-behaved pet is welcome at no extra cost.

Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, along with a welcome pack and initial fuel for the stove. You have your own garden with furniture, and steps lead down to it—something worth knowing if mobility is a consideration. The property suits two people, and is non-smoking throughout.
