Fearnmore Church

The Applecross peninsula stretches into the Scottish Highlands between Loch Torridon and the sea, a remote corner where golden eagles hunt and otters work the shoreline. Fearnmore Church occupies 21 acres of this landscape, a converted building set back from the quiet road among trees, with nothing else visible in any direction. The property is yours alone—a single bedroom and bathroom, designed with genuine care rather than standard holiday rental finishes.

Inside, the main living space has a vaulted ceiling and sits facing the Torridon mountains through full-length windows; a woodburning stove heats the room, and a chaise longue positions you directly at the view. The mezzanine bedroom sits above, lit by roof windows and far enough removed to feel separate. The bathroom includes both a bath and shower. The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking, with a dining table positioned the same way as everything else here—toward the mountains. Essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen and towels come with the booking, along with wifi. The location suits anyone wanting genuine solitude; the nearest other building is Applecross Cottages. Wildlife is frequent—porpoises and dolphins in the loch, white-tailed eagles overhead, otters along the shore, and a resident pine marten that treats the land as its own. This is not a property for smoking. Check-in is after 17:00 and checkout before 09:00.
