Dalaraban Luxury Pods - Black Grouse

Photo: Dalaraban Luxury Pods

Black Grouse is a single-bedroom pod on the outskirts of Fort William, positioned to overlook Loch Linnhe with views across the water towards the mountains beyond. The whole space is yours alone, set on ground level with direct access to a decking area—the kind of spot where golden eagles pass overhead and roe deer emerge in the morning. Everything is open-plan: a living area with smart TV and a sofa bed for two children, a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals rather than heating takeaways, and a bedroom with a king-size bed. The shower room includes a heated towel rail and there's a wood burner for cooler evenings, with initial logs provided.

Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included in the booking. One dog can stay free provided it remains on a lead, as sheep graze the surrounding land. There is private parking for two cars and a bike store on the grounds. Fort William's pubs, restaurants and shops are within a mile, and the railway station—just under two miles away—serves the West Highland Line, running through some of the most dramatic scenery in the Highlands. The area suits anyone wanting hillwalking or mountain biking, with Ben Nevis, Glencoe and the Nevis Range all within reach by car. Mallaig, a working fishing village an hour's drive south, has ferry connections to Skye.

Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. We were absolutely captivated by the stunning views. The pod itself was clean, and the host made everything so easy with a seamless check-in and check-out process. We would definitely stay here again!
