About Lawriestone Guest House

Lawriestone Guest House occupies a Victorian building on Achintore Road in Fort William, its period character kept intact through traditionally decorated rooms furnished with antiques. This is an adults-only guest house, and each room comes with an en-suite bathroom, drinks, and views out towards the loch and surrounding mountains, including Ben Nevis.

Guests can start the day with breakfast before making use of the garden, picnic area or outdoor seating, and there is free WiFi throughout along with 24 hour reception and luggage storage for those arriving early or leaving late. Free on-site parking is provided, which is useful given the property's position just over a mile from the centre of Fort William.

The surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with golf, fishing and watersports also nearby, and a choice of pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach. Ben Nevis itself remains the obvious point of interest close by, making Lawriestone a straightforward base for exploring the mountain and the wider Highlands landscape.

I can’t say enough good things about Jan and Jamie. They are both the sweetest people you will ever meet. My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon and we were honestly a little sad to leave. They really make you feel at home here. Our room was immaculate! We had gorgeous views of the loch and spent our evenings sitting in front of the large bay window watching the sun set. It was perfect! The breakfast is delicious and gets you fueled up for any adventuring around Fort William and the Highlands. We sincerely hope we can come back to stay in the future!

My (now) husband and I stayed at Lawriestone Guest House for 2 nights while on our trip to Scotland for our elopement and honeymoon in one. Jamie greeted us immediately when we arrived and was absolutely welcoming. We got into our room and it had an absolutely amazing view of the Loch. They have a fantastic welcome book with a lot of good travel ideas and suggestions for the area. The interior design was also adorable with tartan armchairs and thistle wall paper. In the mornings, we had Jan serve us a great breakfast and talked to us like we were old friends. I felt so welcomed and cozy during this stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We can't wait to visit again and see Jamie and Jan officially as husband and wife!

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. Jan and Jamie are incredibly friendly and attentive hosts, going above and beyond with taking care of their guests and extremely helpful with local recommendations. The rooms are absolutely stunning - we had the most beautiful and peaceful lake view, with a super comfortable and large bed. Also very spacious room. Great breakfast too to get you ready for the day exploring the beautiful area. We cannot recommend this place enough. Everything was just perfect!

We had a lovely stay at lawriestone guesthouse. The view of the loch from the room was amazing. The breakfast was nice, but especially the excellent atmosphere and the chats with Jan. After encouraging words from Jan we climbed Ben Nevis and were very happy with comfy chairs and view at the end of the day.
