Dougie Pod

Highland

The Ardnamurchan Peninsula juts into the Atlantic between Mull and the mainland, a working landscape of moorland, lochs and coastal cliffs. Dougie Pod sits in Kilchoan at the peninsula's tip, built into an extinct volcanic formation with Sanna Bay's sandy beaches just five hundred metres away. One dog travels free, and there's parking on site for a single car.

The pod is compact but complete: a separate bedroom with a double bed, a shower room with heated towel rail, and an open-plan living space that includes a proper kitchen with a full-sized cooker and dining table. Decked doors open to a seating area facing loch and mountain views. Electricity and heating are included, along with bed linen and towels; breakfast supplies often appear in a welcome pack. The whole place is yours alone.

Sanna Bay works for swimming, picnicking or simply watching sea eagles from the decking with morning coffee. Ardnamurchan Point lies nearby; Lochaline (for ferries to Mull) is a short drive away. Further afield, Eilean Donan Castle and the Isle of Skye are accessible by road, each about half an hour's travel. The shops and a pub are four miles towards Acharacle. No smoking inside.
