Mondhuie Self Catering Chalets - The Bothy
Highland
View on Google MapsNethy Bridge sits in the Cairngorms National Park, surrounded by Scots pine forests and the River Nethy. The Bothy is a ground-floor detached unit here, sleeping two in a zip-link bed that converts between double and twin configurations. A shower room, combined living and kitchen space, and a wood-burning stove that warms the whole property within an hour make up the rest of the accommodation. You have your own parking, a private garden with sitting-out area and furniture, and a BBQ.
The kitchen is equipped for cooking; bed linen and towels are provided, along with fuel for the stove. Electricity is metered separately. A pub sits within a mile of the property. One dog is welcome. The setting suits anyone wanting straightforward countryside access without the distraction of phone signal—though 4G is available if you need it—and the Bothy works equally well for a quiet break or as part of a larger group booking when paired with the neighbouring chalet.

If I could give 10 stars out of 5, I'd definitely do! We only stayed for a short time, but absolutely loved it — and we’re already dreaming of coming back. The chalet is incredibly cosy and well-equipped — honestly, if we’d known it had everything we might’ve packed half as much! It’s a real gem for anyone looking to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy some peace and quiet. Surrounded by flowers and greenery, with birds visiting the feeders right outside — it feels like a little haven tucked away from the rush of everyday life.

Mondhuie Chalets has been our favourite family holiday base for many years. Nethy Bridge is at the heart of Speyside which makes it easy to drive out for a day, yet the well equipped chalets feel remote enough for nature lovers. The owners will make you feel welcome, and the fire stove will make you feel cosy after long days spent hiking or exploring the area.

A week spent in the chalet was a great family holiday for us. Plenty of space inside as well as spacious garden are only few of many highlights of Sylvia's place. Quiet location close to many woodland walks makes it ideal for nature lovers. Take a path from the back garden that takes you to Speyside Walk. Using this you can explore the whole area as much as you want. Chalet itself was perfectly equipped to make you feel like home. As a family of five we've had more than enough space in it. Children could spend whole day in the garden playing and running around. We also got lucky with the weather so we could sit in the garden late in the evening and enjoy the silence. We really hope to come back again! Thank you!

Had another great stay! Lovely, peaceful and quiet. Have seen deer, woodpecker, squirrel and bats! Loved watching the birds at the bird feeders. Have enjoyed the quiet and the amazingly clear, starry nights. Thanks Sylvia for a wonderful stay!
