Mountain Bear Lodge

Mountain Bear Lodge is a detached property that underwent a complete renovation to luxury standards in late 2022. The building now contains six bedrooms and five bathrooms arranged across its interior, with underfloor heating in the bathrooms and substantial storage throughout the sleeping areas. A mile outside Nethy Bridge, the lodge sits on the edge of the Caledonian Forest with moorland and mountain views; red squirrels, mountain hares and various deer move through the surrounding landscape.

The main living spaces include a large kitchen equipped for cooking, a dining area with substantial seating, three sofas in the sitting room, and a snug with games and a desk. A hot tub occupies the garden grounds. Essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are provided. The property sleeps 14 and is let as a whole to one group only; one pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

Nethy Bridge sits within the Cairngorms National Park, roughly 12 miles from Aviemore. The Cairngorm Mountains, skiing facilities, hill walking routes and Loch Insh water sports are all within easy reach. Kingussie, with its wildlife park, is nearby, as is Loch Garten's RSPB reserve. Within a mile there is a farm shop, pub and restaurant. The lodge works equally well for groups seeking outdoor pursuits—mountain biking, climbing, the Speyside Way—or for those planning quieter time in the hot tub.
