Shoreside

The north-west Highlands offer some of Scotland's most dramatic landscapes, and Shoreside puts you at the heart of them. This single-storey cottage stands on the shore of Loch Duich, with the Five Sisters of Kintail rising across the water. The Falls of Glomach are within reach for walkers, and Kyle—12 miles away—connects to Skye by bridge. Closer to hand, a shop and pub are within walking distance.

Inside, there are two bedrooms (one double, one with twins) and two bathrooms, all on the ground floor with level access. The living and dining space has a TV and woodburner. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; electricity and heating are covered in the price. There's parking for two cars on site.

What makes Shoreside distinctive is the direct connection to the shoreline. The garden opens onto the water, where a wildlife observation hide offers views of seals, porpoises and otters in the loch. A resident pine marten visits regularly. A private slipway is available if you bring a boat. Sea fishing is free from nearby rocks. The property is non-smoking throughout.
