Tanera

Wick sits at the northeastern tip of mainland Scotland, within driving distance of several places worth the journey. Duncansby Head offers dramatic coastal cliffs and stacks; Castle of Mey, the late Queen Mother's former home, is open to visitors; Reiss Beach stretches for pristine sand. The Wick Heritage Museum covers local history. Wildlife watching—seabirds, seals, otters—is possible from the shoreline and nearby water trips.

Tanera is a single-storey bungalow, recently renovated, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Bedrooms contain a kingsize, a double, and a single bed, sleeping five people total. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can cook as simply or ambitiously as you want. A living room with Freeview Smart TV, separate dining room, and shower room complete the layout. Everything on ground level means no stairs. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; a travel cot and highchair are available. One dog stays free.

Behind the property, a fully enclosed garden with patio and furniture provides space for pets and children to play safely, or for quiet evenings outdoors. Private parking fits two cars. The bungalow is no-smoking. Wick's shops and restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive.

Private island in Summer Isles being turned into 5* philanthropic retreat. Old buildings restored to heritage standards. Community regeneration part of the project including Achiltibuie 1 mile away on mainland. Island has old herring sheds and a number of converted old buildings as cottages. Half the time a philanthropic retreat, other half island can be rented by wealthy to cover charitable costs of Summer Isles Enterprises. Beautiful island with exceptional views over other uninhabited Summer Isles and across to Stac Pollaidh, Ben More and Suilven mountains in Assynt as well as towards Ullapool - main port servicing Outer Hebrides.
