Church View sits on the edge of Wick's historic cemetery, looking out over one of the town's churches. The whole property is yours alone: two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with a double), a bathroom, and an open-plan living space on the ground floor. Everything needed for self-catering is here—a full kitchen with oven, hob and microwave, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels all included, plus wifi. There's an enclosed garden with seating, and parking for two cars on site.
Wick itself has shifted through fishing booms and slumps over three centuries, and walking its streets gives a sense of that layered past. The town has a heritage centre, local distillery, golf links, and access to Reiss Sands. More broadly, staying here puts you on the North Coast 500 without the need to constantly move on—a genuine base rather than a waypoint. From here you can explore hidden harbours along the coast, visit clifftop castles, follow the Halladale and Helmsdale rivers inland, and reach John O'Groats, Duncansby Head and the ferry to Orkney within a reasonable drive. No smoking is permitted inside.
