The House On The Slip sits at the water's edge in Kylerhea, accessed via a rough track that leads to genuine seclusion. What makes it distinctive is the nearness to the loch—the property stands only feet from the high tide line, and from the sun room you watch the water and wildlife throughout the day. Seals and otters appear regularly; golden eagles patrol above; the two resident sea eagles (named Victor and Orla) hunt over the narrows. In the field behind, Hebridean sheep and Shetland ponies complete the Highland landscape.
The house has three bedrooms sleeping six: a king upstairs with an ensuite, two further bedrooms with single beds, and a second bathroom on the upper floor. Downstairs, a living room with woodburner and Smart TV opens onto the sun room where most of the action is. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with dishwasher and washer-dryer. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and wi-fi are included; there's private parking for two cars and fly fishing on the grounds. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available if needed.
The isolation suits families looking for somewhere to slow down rather than pursue attractions—children discover rock pools and hideaways along the shore, while adults settle in to watch the tidal shifts and the constant movement of marine life. The small community-run ferry to Glenelg departs from the slip directly in front. This is not a place for those seeking nightlife or restaurants nearby; it is a place to occupy yourself with what the loch provides.
