The Wee Belter
Highland
Embo is a quiet village on the Moray Firth coast, a few miles north of Dornoch. The Wee Belter sits here with views over the water from the back, and direct access to a private garden with seating. The village itself is small; what matters is the setting—open countryside, a working coastline, and enough distance from anywhere else that you actually feel removed.
Inside, there are two bedrooms (one double, one with bunk beds) and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Downstairs holds the living and dining space, where a wood burner takes the chill off colder months, and a kitchen with a full electric cooker, microwave, washing machine and fridge-freezer. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, as is the initial fuel for the stove. There's space in the garden for outdoor dining when the weather allows, and a children's play area if you're bringing younger guests. One car can park on site; a bike store is also available. The property is non-smoking.
This works well for a quiet break away—walking the coast or exploring inland—or as a base for visiting Dornoch and the wider Highlands. The beach is within reach, and the space is set up for self-catering rather than eating out, though local options exist if you prefer.
