Wavecrest

Wavecrest is a ground-floor cottage in Staffin, on the north coast of the Isle of Skye. Everything you need for self-catering is here: the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and all the usual appliances, so cooking and laundry are straightforward. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with electricity (an initial £20 credit tops up at the local post office). The living room has a smart TV and patio doors that open onto an enclosed garden with furniture.

There are two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with two singles—and one bathroom with a bath and shower. One well-behaved pet stays free. Parking on site fits at least two cars. The cottage suits families and couples alike; a travel cot and highchair are available if needed. No smoking is allowed indoors.

Staffin Bay is at the door, its cliffs and coastline visible from the cottage. The village sits within reach of Skye's main attractions: the Quiraing mountain walks, the Old Man of Storr, and Staffin Beach, where dinosaur footprints emerge at low tide. There is enough nearby to occupy a week or more, and the space itself—private, on the ground floor, equipped for genuine comfort—means you can settle in without fuss.
