What diners say
What a lovely find! This pub was originally established in the 1400s and was rebuilt in the 1920s, yet it beautifully retains that charming medieval-style architecture. The interior feels warm, authentic, and full of character which is exactly what you hope for in a traditional British pub. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and cozy. We loved the wooden booths, which gave us a perfect private little nook to chat and enjoy our drinks with friends. It felt intimate without being cramped. If you’re looking for a pub with real history, fantastic ambiance, and a genuine sense of warmth, this place is well worth a stop in.

Historic London Pub #3 - Cittie of Yorke! So far my favourite and recommend coming here first, but you may not leave 😉. Here mid-day not to busy and grabbed a nice private booth that will sit four comfortably. Enjoying a pint of Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery Bitter. Hand drawn and tasty.

Not withstanding the fact it’s a Sam Smiths pub, we managed to find drinks that everyone was happy with. The main hall of this pub is splendid, from the vaulted ceiling to the small booth seating and the paneled walls. The pub is worth a visit just to see its atmospheric interior. Then of course sit and have a drink.
