About Norbury House
Norbury House occupies a restored Victorian gentleman's residence in Torrs Park, on a hilltop above Ilfracombe with panoramic views over the rooftops to the sea. The AA 4-star B&B has been given a contemporary, boutique makeover, mixing original features such as Victorian fireplaces with bold colour and vintage pop-art touches.
Rooms are individually decorated, several with king-size beds and sea views, and guests have use of a licensed cocktail bar in the lounge along with tea and biscuits on arrival. The property has been singled out by both Lonely Planet and The Guardian as among the best small hotels and B&Bs in North Devon.
It is a ten to fifteen minute walk down into the harbour and town centre, making it well suited to guests happy to walk the hill in exchange for the views and quiet at the top.

This is the BEST stay I have ever had. The breakfast is amazing, the rooms are SUPER CLEAN AND COZY, and it’s peaceful. The owner is the most hospitable host I’ve ever encountered and has excellent taste in music for the lobby. I came for a wedding weekend and my room was a tornado rushing to get dressed… when we got back our things were hung, bed made, everything was orderly. This is the best guest house I’ve ever step foot in. I might come back just so I can sleep here. Feels like home. I could go on…

Paula was the BEST host, super attentive, and the food was incredible. Nordbury House is absolutely beautiful, in an amazing location and has such a relaxed vibe you instantly feel at home. Brisket (the beautiful lab) was a wonderful addition to a brilliant stay. Would highly recommend Paula and Nordbury House to all 😁

What a wonderful place to stay. Adam and Paula could not have been better hosts. Our room was very comfortable. The breakfast choices were good. It's about a 10 minute walk to town. There's an honesty bar. Our room had a superb view over the town.

We absolutely loved our stay here! From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, making it easy to unwind. The food was delicious, and every meal was served with such care. We're already planning our trip back to Ilfracombe next year, and there's no question we'll definitely be staying here again. (Loved the friendly dog too!)
