About Alban and Abbey Guest House
Alban and Abbey Guest House occupies a traditional Highland building whose original architectural details still show through in several of its 16 rooms, from cornicing to fireplaces. It sits in a quiet residential spot in Inverness, away from the bustle of the centre but close enough to walk there.
Rooms are kept clean and well-maintained, with a number of guests noting the generous size of the bathrooms. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception are provided, and there's free on-site parking, a genuine convenience in a city where street parking can be tricky. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, adding to the sense of a well-run, personable operation rather than an anonymous chain stay. Some guests have noted that check-in itself is not always in the most obvious or convenient spot, worth bearing in mind on arrival.
The quiet residential setting makes for a restful base, while the short walk into central Inverness puts the city's shops, restaurants and attractions within easy reach for those exploring the Highlands.

What guests say
A 10/10 stay. The accommodation was very well maintained, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. It also has parking, which was a great convenience, and the location is perfect: only a two-minute walk from the city centre. I would especially like to highlight the service we received from the reception staff. The person who welcomed us was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. He provided us with a city map, pointed out the main places of interest, and gave us excellent recommendations on where to visit, where to eat, and what activities to do. We were also given very useful information about everything we might need during our stay, including transport prices, leisure options, and tips to make the most of the city. I would particularly like to mention the staff member who assisted us, although unfortunately I do not remember his name. We checked in on 17/06 at around 6:00 PM, in case this helps identify him and pass on my thanks, as his kindness and helpfulness were truly exceptional. A highly recommended place, both for the quality of the accommodation and the outstanding service we received. We would definitely stay here again. A perfect 10/10!

Overall, my stay was fine. However, I did not receive an email prior to checking in regarding reception being a block away from the property I was actually staying in, and I had to call to find out where to go to check in. In addition, I asked for daily housekeeping, which didn’t happen the second day of my stay. Also, the shower wasn’t operating well. The temperature of the water was either scalding hot, or freezing cold, with absolutely no water pressure. I would not recommend that others stay here, and would not stay again.

Fine location and perfectly good room. HOWEVER, reception is 175 yards from the two buildings that house the rooms. So, you take a cab to the address and there’s no place to check in and no way of knowing where to check in unless you happen to go around back and see the sign. That means you haul your luggage through city streets and hope it doesn’t rain on you. Craziest business process I’ve ever seen. They don’t advertise this gross inconvenience; if they did they probably wouldn’t stay in business.

Loved my stay here a few weeks ago. My room was very spacious and I loved that I had a sofa to sit on. Room had a lot of original features a fireplace and ornate coving. Staff were friendly and accommodating especially when I asked to extend my stay, which was easy to arrange. It's a 10 min walk to town centre. Only drawback for me was the banging of front door when people were entering and leaving.
