About Cedar Villa Guest House - B&B

A 19th-century townhouse on Kenneth Street forms the setting for Cedar Villa Guest House, a small B&B with just six rooms within easy reach of central Inverness. The building's period character comes through in its traditional layout, while modern comforts have been added throughout, including air conditioning and free WiFi.

Rooms are simple and comfortable rather than lavish, with drinks provided and access to laundry and luggage storage for those breaking up a longer trip. Mornings bring a full Scottish breakfast in the on-site restaurant, and the garden offers a quiet spot to sit outside. The property also has meeting rooms and space for weddings, along with porter and concierge services on hand to help with arrangements.

Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward, and pets are welcome, which suits guests travelling with dogs. Its position near the city centre puts Inverness's shops, restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance, making Cedar Villa a practical base for exploring the Highlands' capital.

Easy to get into. Good location. Hosts very responsive to any communication. Clean environment. Did get a bit noisy with other guests running up and down stairs. My room was next to the kitchen so was woken up with people slamming drawers. However that is not the responsibility of cedar villa that was down to other guests not being considerate of other people. This is a good place to base yourself to see Inverness and the surrounding highlands would definitely stay again

Sam's travels

Do not stay here! What an awful experience. Bathroom poorly equipped, no shelf for wash bag, you have to use the floor. This house is owned by ghosts ; No contact possible with anyone, the number listed on website and the front door just cuts out, and no-one is ever seen near. They don't answer emails. The front door latch is extremely sensitive and it locks itself, so you can't unlock from the outside. As we were staying on the ground floor we were woken up at 11.30pm and midnight by people shouting and knocking on the door, because they couldn't get in. I let them in poor things. There is a sign on the inside saying; don't touch the button on the lock, but it can be done unintentionally. Instead buy a lock for £30 and change it. No breakfast is available, so it shouldn't be called B&B. In our room no teabags or coffee provided, only one chocolate sachet. Obviously as little is done as possible. Carpets dirty, outside dirty, bathroom had hairs in the shower, remnants of months of cigarette buts in the outside ashtray. This place should be closed down. It is a disgrace to Scotland. Shocking. Yet they still charge over £100 per night for the worst room.

I was a bit apprehensive about the shared bathroom, but it was just shared between 3 bedrooms on the top floor so no issue at all. The hosts were lovely and accommodating, they even take individual breakfast preferences and the room is perfectly satisfactory. Just 10 minutes walk to the Inverness train or bus station.
