About Chieftain Hotel

Inverness is a compact, walkable city with attractions and transport links close at hand, and the Chieftain Hotel puts guests right in the middle of it. It's a straightforward base rather than a boutique retreat, with free on-site parking and a garden and outdoor seating area for those who want a bit of air.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks in room and family rooms for those travelling with children, though some rooms show their age rather than feeling freshly refurbished. Breakfast and packed lunches are available alongside a restaurant and bar, with the kitchen's Mac n Cheese getting particular mention. Kids' meals are catered for, and meeting rooms make the hotel workable for events, helped along by staff who are consistently described as friendly and efficient.

Beyond the hotel, guests can find golf, fishing, watersports and entertainment nearby, along with pubs, bars and restaurants within easy reach. Pets are welcome, and 24 hour reception means arrivals and queries are covered whatever the hour. It's a practical choice for exploring Inverness without fuss.

Had a truly great experience at the Chieftain Hotel. Julie was incredibly sweet and attentive, she went out of her way to take care of me, even brought me milk when I needed it. That kind of warmth really made the stay special. The hotel itself was very clean throughout, and the entire staff was helpful and welcoming from start to finish. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Inverness.

We had a short but lovely stay at the Chieftain hotel. The room was comfortable, perfectly clean and cosy. The bathroom with a bath was bright and large. Super quiet location. The staff was super welcoming and accommodating ( we arrived after 1am and had to store bikes and they offered solutions to make it work). Big thank you to Siobhan and Julie, for their smiles, warmth and help.

I did not stay at the hotel but I did eat at the restaurant and it was definitely delicious!!! Fresh fish from the sea! So delicious and tender I have never had haddock so tasty! Siobhan and Craig were wonderful! So friendly and cheerful! The haggis was a pleasant surprise! Felt like I was dining with old friends!!!

I can't comment on rooms as I only had dinner. I was staying at the Premier Inn and was recommended here for dinner as their own restaurant was closed. I had a curry and a beer which was good. My review is prompted mainly to compliment the very friendly and efficient staff. Shout out to Elise. A delightful young member of staff. Sorry to the lad who was on duty with her, I didn't catch his name. Anyhow the staff are a credit to your establishment.
