About Leonardo Hotel Inverness

Inverness makes a natural base for touring the Highlands, with the River Ness and Loch Ness within easy reach, and Leonardo Hotel Inverness sits on Millburn Road as a straightforward option for exploring both the city and the wider region. The hotel has 118 rooms spread across five floors, with en-suite bathrooms, family and accessible options, room service and drinks available in-room. Some rooms are better kept than others, so it is worth bearing in mind that consistency across the building varies.

The leisure facilities are the strongest draw, with an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym all on-site, alongside a spa area for those wanting to unwind after a day on the road. A restaurant and bar serve meals on-site, and breakfast is included as part of the offer, with the food generally well regarded. Staff are typically helpful, though service can be inconsistent depending on how busy things get.

Practical extras include free on-site parking, free WiFi, laundry service, luggage storage and meeting rooms, making it workable for both leisure stays and business visits, and the hotel also functions as a wedding venue. Nearby options run to golf, fishing and entertainment, plus pubs and restaurants close at hand, with Inverness itself and the routes towards Loch Ness within easy striking distance.

Accessibility shower was really nice and well thought out. Room was lovely and clean. We looked for extra pillows like in some places but there were none. I’m sure reception could have sorted but in the end we ‘Manned up’ and coped!!! LOL We had room service too which we appreciate because sometimes it’s a chore to go to the restaurant when you’ve been travelling and just want a shower, get into your bed clothes and chill with a nice meal, so we really appreciated it.

The location is good, about a 20-minute walk from the city centre. A taxi costs around £7, and the bus fare is only £2. However, the Stagecoach ticketing system is quite confusing, and there is a risk that the bus may not show up. The ventilation is completely inadequate—there is essentially none. The room was unbearably hot, over 26°C, even though it was only 19°C outside. There was no way to open a window. The toilet wouldn't flush properly, and taking a shower triggered the fire alarm because of the steam. The dinner was expensive and, unfortunately, not worth the price. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional. I would choose a different place next time.

Room tiny, facilities very old and worn and in some cases even smell bad. Really not a nice place to stay in. Best part of the staff who are really nice and friendly. Hotel by a main road, window needs to be open for some air to get in, but there's no blinds so you have some privacy. Badly needing a refurb, I wouldn't stay there again. You can get a far nicer room that doesn't smell and you can move in for the same price.

A great hotel to relax in. The rooms are well proportioned and comfortable. The bar has good options. The menu is varied and the food is tasty. We did use the swimming pool and steam room which was a great bonus. It's a very manageable 15 minute walk in to the centre of town.
