About Glen Mhor Hotel
Ness Bank runs alongside the River Ness in the heart of Inverness, and it's here that Glen Mhor Hotel occupies its stretch of the riverside, close to the Highlands' main sights including Culloden Battlefield nearby. The setting gives many of the hotel's 75 rooms their river views, a feature guests single out along with the breakfast spread on offer each morning.
Beyond the bedrooms, the hotel runs to a restaurant, a bar, and an on-site distillery and brewery that set it apart from most Inverness accommodation. There's also an indoor swimming pool, a gym, a garden, and meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay, plus concierge, porter and laundry services and free on-site parking. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to offsetting the odd complaint about tired room maintenance and patchy Wi-Fi.
Inverness itself lies a short distance away, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach, making the hotel a practical base for exploring the city and the wider Highlands beyond the water outside its door.

What guests say
I had a brilliant time at the Glen Mhor Hotel the past three days. The rooms themselves are lovely, very spacious, nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. I loved the main lights with antler decorations, it was very unique and added a lot of atmosphere to the room. I also loved the soaps and shower gels which had amazing scents. The water pressure in the shower was also great, and the whole place was very clean and tidy. I also visited the Waterside Restaurant which was also very good, the service was very fast and helpful and the food was delicious, I especially loved the halloumi fries and the sticky toffee pudding! The main courses were amazing, and there were so many options to choose from. Breakfast was also incredible, the hash browns were a highlight and I also loved how spacious the room with the buffet was, it never felt crowded and I felt like I could take my time which was lovely. Additionally, I took the tour around the Uile Bheist Distillery & Brewery with tour guide Matthew and had a great time. It was fascinating to learn how the distillery and brewery processes are related and how they can be used to help each other. I also loved learning about the history of the brewery and seeing all of the ingredients that go into the process. The bar in the hotel was also so atmospheric and cosy, and the decor with the pipes leading from the distillery was so unique and cool. The staff in all of these places were amazing and so helpful, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing time in Inverness!

I absolutely love the Glen Mhor. I return every time I visit Scotland, and somehow it gets even better with each stay. This time, there was the welcome addition of a pub in the distillery and an excellent restaurant. The hotel has a unique, homely feel, as it is made up of several adjoining houses rather than one large building. The rooms are spacious and, for us, it's well worth paying a little extra for the views over the River Ness and the cathedral opposite. It's a luxury we rarely indulge in. The staff are exceptionally friendly and quick to resolve any concerns. Breakfast is now included and offers an excellent choice of well-prepared food,. We also greatly appreciated the breakfast bags they prepared on the two mornings when our tours departed before breakfast service began. The pub is beautiful, and its staff are just as welcoming and generous as those in the hotel. The only reason I haven't given the Glen Mhor five stars is that, by now, I would have expected a more reliable internet service. The Wi-Fi reception remains patchy and could certainly be improved. Without doubt, the Glen Mhor has contributed in making Inverness one of my two favourite places in the world.

I had the pleasure of staying at the glen mhòr hotel this week, as well as getting the distillery tour and dining at the waterside restaurant. All three were spectacular: My room was comfy and clean with a lovely view of the river Ness. The hotel was ideally placed for touring the city, walking down the riverside was lovely and it was less than 5 minutes to the city centre. The distillery tour was informative and interactive, getting to smell and taste all the ingredients was a nice touch on a tour I've never had before. The nice tour guide Mathew answered my all questions going beyond the scope of the tour which I was very happy with. Seeing the inclusion of their local Gàidhlig culture and history gave me hope for the future of the country. The restaurant was a chic environment for a classy dinner with my wonderful friends - the staff were all amazing and I was glad to have such delicious veggie options, hopefully there will be more to try next time.

Recently stayed at the Glen Mhor Hotel and had such an amazing stay. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful with places to go and see and things to do. The rooms were comfortable and I love the scent of the soaps in the bathroom. The city of Inverness is also beautiful and my room looked out to a river and there were wonderful walks very close by. Within the hotel itself there was the Uilebheist Distillery & Brewery which was beyond amazing. The guided tour done by our guide, Mathew, was very informative and everything was beautifully arranged. What i liked most was the stories behind packaging and how Scottish mythology has been so widely incorporated into the whiskys and beers as well as the brand itself, making it unique and wonderful outing for my friends and I. We particularly liked the tasting afterwards and it is clear to see that the this is a company that are very knowledgeable on what they are doing. Lastly the Waterside restaurant attached to the hotel was a daily must for us for breakfast and dinner. I loved the breakfast with its unique hashbrowns and variety of foods. The drink selection in the evening was exceptional, even if you're not a fan of alcohol (a shame as the cocktails are amazing) the mocktails are also wonderful. As a vegetarian I found that there were many options for dinner on the new menu that the staff offered us and they were all very filling, the halloumi fries being the star of the starters and cauliflower steak and beetroot burger being wonderful options for the main and of course the dessert, which was amazing no matter option was chosen. I cant wait to come back again next year with more friends!
