About Inverness Palace Hotel & Spa, WorldHotels Distinctive
Inverness Palace Hotel & Spa occupies a solid, traditional-looking building of four floors on Ness Walk, right by the River Ness in the heart of Inverness. With 110 rooms, it has the scale of a proper city hotel while keeping a settled, established feel, and its position gives many rooms a view towards the castle nearby.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, room service and in-room drinks, and the hotel is happy to welcome pets too. Guests describe the rooms as spacious and well kept, though some have noted that noise can carry between them, worth bearing in mind if you're a light sleeper. Facilities extend to an indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna, a restaurant and bar on site, and meeting rooms for business visitors. Breakfast buffets and afternoon tea are served, and staff are consistently described as attentive and friendly.
Onsite parking is available for a fee, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need it. Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and horse riding nearby, along with a choice of pubs and restaurants within easy reach. It's a comfortable base for exploring Inverness on foot, with the river and castle both close at hand.

What guests say
Our stay here has been superb. The hotel is well furnished and had beautiful Christmas decor, making it super cosy for the season. All staff are happy and friendly and help with what ever you need. Breakfast was fantastic, huge range of meats, eggs, hot buffet, yoghurts and juices, timings for breakfast were all fantastic. Our room was tidy, and serviced daily to our surprise and gratitude. It was lovely coming back to a made up room at the end of a long day. The Nespresso coffee machine in the room was great too. The swimming, gym and sauna/steam/jacuzzi I was open to us to use at our leisure and all facilities were spotless, a lovely way to unwind. A fabulous stay, thank you!

We often stay in Inverness but always on the outskirts. This time was a more of a splurge and relax poolside sort of weekend on my own after an incredibly rough 2025 for me. I called reception after booking with some enquiries, one of the many receptionists, Ale, took the call and she couldn't have been more helpful with her answers and assurances, this helped make the forthcoming weekend less anxious for me. Happily she was even working at reception when I arrived and she took care of the parking permit for the Cathedral parking from the Spa. When I arrived it was clear that the hotel was very popular for afternoon teas. Ale had upgraded my single room to a double which was amazing. I spent all evening and the next in the spa area which was my plan. Jacuzzi, pool, steam room, repeat was the aim of my visit, even on the morning of departure. Breakfasts were made to order on Saturday morning and self service buffet on Sunday morning. I was delighted with the fresh cheese and freshly cut fruit options as well as the huge variety of cooked breakfast ingredients. I opted for no room cleaning/towel change and was rewarded with a mini bottle of red which was enjoyed after I finally emerged from the spa! I'll be back there for certain.

What follows is just one person's opinion. My wife and I were put in room 112 which is at the back of the hotel. The room was boiling hot and a fan did not help. Moreover, the "view" consisted of looking at a slanted roof that was just outside the window. In short, the room was unacceptable and expensive.Further, the normal toiletries that should accompany an expensive room were not present. We complained about all the foregoing immediately, but were not moved until the next day.We lost a night's sleep The room we were moved to the next day was in the main section of the hotel and much better. It overlooked the river! Also, the hotel is in a fantastic location .You can walk to alot of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. The breakfast buffet had lots of food but I did not find some items to be tasty. The eggs did not taste right to me.Some pastries were not good in my opinion. The chocolate croissant was excellent as were the sauteed mushrooms. I think we should have received our money back for room 112.At a minimum, the hotel should consider a cheaper price point for that room. Would I go back? Probably,if we were guaranteed a room in the main section overlooking the river. There was enough good food on the buffet to make me happy

From the moment we checked in, the hotel provided exceptional service. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure every detail was taken care of. Our room was spotless and comfortable, offering everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The spa area was delightful with its pool and hot tub for relaxing after a long tiresome journey from London. One of the highlights was the delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. In fact, we ate there both nights of our stay. The menu featured a variety of flavorful dishes, and the meals were perfectly prepared. Throughout our stay, every interaction was pleasant, and checking out was just as seamless as our arrival. We would gladly return for another outstanding experience. We would like to thank Jason, Kasey, Angelika, Yevhen, Maya, and Lucina, for the service they provided. While our interactions with all the staff were pleasant and very professional we want to acknowledge Maria and Laura for their very pleasant and professional way of delivering breakfasts to a couple of old weary travelers. We highly recommend the Palace Hotel as THE PLACE TO STAY in Inverness!
