About Heathmount Hotel
Heathmount Hotel sits on a quiet residential street a short walk from the centre of Inverness, in a converted townhouse that has been run as an independent boutique hotel for many years. Its scale is deliberately modest, with a handful of individually styled rooms above a well-used bar and dining room.
The hotel has built a loyal following among locals as much as visitors, thanks to a relaxed atmosphere, a menu built on Highland produce, and a good selection of Scottish gins and whiskies at the bar. It avoids the more formal feel of some of the city's larger hotels in favour of something closer to a neighbourhood local with rooms attached.
Its residential setting means a quieter night than hotels directly on Church Street, while still being an easy ten-minute walk into the centre, making it a good option for visitors who want value and character over spa facilities or river views.

What guests say
We stayed here for two nights visiting Inverness. The location is excellent. Just 8 minutes walk from the train station, we were in the quiet of a residential area. The room is nicely updated and modern. There is a number of stairs and landings to navigate to reception and to the room. While not a problem for us, it's something to keep in mind. The room was very comfortable and the staff were helpful. We were able to store our luggage between checking out and meeting up with our tour group. We had breakfast at the hotel. There was self-serve yogurt and toast and then a selection of cooked items. Everything was delicious and the service was good.

We stayed for three nights on our first trip to Inverness after taking the train up from Edinburgh. The room was small, but the bathroom was a good size and modern. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. We had breakfast every morning in the restaurant and dinner there on our first night. The food was very good - simple, home-style, and easy. The restaurant has a well-stocked bar and a patio with outside seating as well. The service was very friendly and the rooms had everything we needed. We loved being near family neighborhoods instead of in the city centre. Each morning at breakfast we enjoyed seeing the neighborhood children walking to the nearby schools in their uniforms. The city centre was an easy walk for my husband and me, and a short cab ride when my 80-year-old parents went down into town with us. I would 100% stay here again in the future.

This slightly up scale hotel is within walking distance of city center. The room was roomy, had excellent bedding and bath. Food and drink in the restaurant were good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We were so glad to have booked this place at the end of our Great Glen Way hike with our dogs. The room we stayed in was absolutely brilliant. Spacious, super comfy bed, lovely bathroom, the works. Far enough from the centre of town that it was quiet, but close enough that it was a super easy walk. Amazing, massive long old bath with plenty fast running hot water was bliss. Top it all off with the nicest staff, and the friendliest barman, and we wouldn't hesitate to come back.
