About Nether Hall Farm
Tucked into woodland on a working arable farm, Nether Hall Farm delivers a proper off-grid experience with spruce and fir trees overhead and the river Stour below. The real draw is private access to Harkstead beach via a farm track – tide-dependent, but brilliant for families who fancy mucking about on the foreshore. Firepits come with each pitch (logs available), there's a gas-powered shower to warm you up after a day on the water, and composting loos keep things eco-friendly. Campers who tread quietly often spot song birds, owls, hares and deer.
The handful of pitches includes a premium water-view spot called Badger Sett. Miles of footpaths thread through the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, and Shotley Peninsula spreads out in spectacular fashion. Harkstead village (five minutes) has a play area; Shotley (ten minutes) offers pubs, shops and a foot ferry to Harwich. Holbrook, Stutton and Chelmondiston are all close for extra supplies and family-friendly inns.

We had a wonderful time here. A beautiful, peaceful location and fantastic to be able to walk 5 mins to the beach from the site. We also walked 20 mins into the local village for a run around at their playing fields and go for a pub lunch.

To be clear - this is a basic campsite with one eco toilet and one shower, so if that's what you are looking for, you won't find better. Individual, huge pitches that you have to walk through the trees to (wheelbarrows provided). They are all isolated from each other (in a pine wood) and each comes with a picnic bench and firepit (logs for sale). It's totally peaceful, surrounded by birdsong (I had the honour of a barn owl flying closely past me) and a very short walk down to the beach (kayaks for hire too). A lovely spot and I really enjoyed a peaceful visit. Sam was really helpful too, messaging before, to say the ground was hard and bring a decent hammer! Highly recommended and I'd certainly come back.

We loved it , and unusual camping site which gives you the benefit of privacy amongst the trees but the reassurance of other campers in similar self contained pitches. The views are beautiful, the fire pits are an excellent add on and just on general a lovely little site
