It may be small, but Kingston Smallholding Goat Farm Campsite is mighty fine. This tiny, family-friendly site sits within a wonderfully wacky six-acre smallholding between Shorwell and Chale Green, home to over fifty goats, a handful of pigs, a pony and five farmyard cats. Surrounded by farmland, it's a short drive from the island's main cycling and walking routes and just two miles from the south coast, where you can pick up the coastal path.
Facilities are decidedly basic – composting toilets, a shower-in-a-shed, cold water and no electricity – but there's unlimited free firewood and several barbecue stands, so you can heat water over the flames and enjoy proper outdoor cooking. A village shop and pub are five minutes' drive away. With a 4.9 Google rating, campers clearly love the back-to-basics charm and animal encounters, though be aware that dogs aren't allowed due to the goats. School children stay for half price.

We have just had the best holiday ever on this small goat farm with a friendly and very warm welcome! Every little corner of the farm is filled with love and attention of Simone and David, the atmosphere is very pleasant, really felt like we were at home. Kids enjoyed feeding animals every morning, location is super convenient, quite nature's beauty is all around the place. It was really sad to leave, but we hope to come back again! A very warm welcome from Simone and David. Compost toilets cleaned regularly. Nice spacious fields to pitch up. Quiet. Lovely views. Fresh eggs every day. Can't wait to stay again.

What a great pop up campsite really friendly owners peaceful area got more facilities than most other popup sites we have been to with the added extra of all the goats and pigs we had a very relaxing weekend and will definitely be back

Lovely family-run campsite in the back garden of a really cute goat farm. It’s got everything you may need: showers, compost toilets, a few mugs and small area for washing dishes, and even wood and a fire pit. You can tell they’ve put a lot of effort in recreating a cozy space for lovers of nature and the outdoors. The owners Simone and David are extremely warm, caring and generous with guests and made us have a fabulous stay whilst bikepacking through the Isle Of Wight. 100% recommended!
