Ventnor occupies a dramatic stretch of the Isle of Wight's southern shoreline, where steep wooded slopes tumble down to the beach. The Undercliff here is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and Seaport Cottage sits within it, positioned between Ventnor and Bonchurch with a direct view down to the English Channel. The town's esplanade, restaurants and seafront shops lie just over half a mile away; Wheelers Bay and the fisherman's cottages are a short walk in the other direction.
The cottage dates from the Victorian era and retains period character inside. Downstairs holds a kitchen with full cooking facilities, a separate toilet, and an open-plan living and dining room. Two bedrooms occupy the first floor—a double and a twin with zip-and-link beds that can be joined together—along with a bathroom. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided, plus there's a welcome pack. One well-behaved dog stays free of charge.
Gardens step up steeply from the rear and side of the house, with a summerhouse at the top tier where you can sit with views across the water. A patio garden at a lower level has furniture for outdoor time. The cottage suits two couples or families with children aged ten and over. There is free parking in a public car park nearby. Note that the garden includes 38 steps and patio surfaces are uneven in places.
