The Camber
Isle of Wight
The Camber is an 18th-century townhouse spread across five floors in Cowes town centre, with five bedrooms, three bathrooms and sleeping space for ten. You enter into a reverse-level layout that makes efficient use of the narrow building: the lower ground floor holds the kitchen, dining room and games room with pool table and table tennis; the ground floor has the living room with an open fire; and the upper floors are dedicated to bedrooms. Each of the five main bedrooms has a zip-and-link super king bed (or two singles on request), with three of them featuring their own ensuite bathrooms.
The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with a range cooker, dishwasher and American fridge freezer. French doors from the lower ground floor lead onto a patio, and the property includes an enclosed garden with two separate patio areas, garden furniture and a barbecue. Parking for one car is included; additional public car parks are nearby. One dog is welcome and stays free. Essentials such as bed linen, towels, heating and wifi are covered, and initial logs for the fire are provided.
Cowes High Street, shops, bars and restaurants are on the doorstep. Northwood House and its park are 100 yards away. The ferry terminal is five minutes' walk. The layout suits large groups or extended families who want separate living and sleeping zones, though note there is no lift between the five floors.
