What visitors say

We have just returned from a 4 night stay, with a 3 year old and 4 month old. I was extremely disappointed by how rundown the site was compared to other sites we have visited before. There are pros and cons to this site though. Pros being the staff are amazing, especially the entertainment team, the park was good and the entertainment centre was nice (excluding the toilets which were falling apart and dirty). Some of the staff members in the arcades and swimming pool were pretty much on their phones the whole time we were there. The little train stops outside the site which my daughter loved and is great if you wanted to use that facility. The beach was a stones throw from the site and was stunning. Also a short drive to Dymchurch and Camber sands. Cons were the swimming pool needs major refurbishment and the sides, with the loungers were absolutely filthy. Facilities not great in the pool at all. Not a big deal for us but the signal was absolutely shocking in the caravan, WiFi available only in the entertainment complex. We were also warned that between 2 & 4pm everyday the water would be shut off. We appreciated the heads up so we were aware to prepare baby bottles prior to these times however every single day, we would try to shower at 4.30pm and the water was still shut off. It was really frustrating as we had been prepared and understanding of the 2-4pm no water times! Signposts to Shingle Bay were unclear and you really have to drive through the houses to get there. A major con for us was the caravan, we went for a bronze caravan with designated parking. Some of the bedding in the twin room was dirty, wasn’t a big deal as we brought our own for our 3 year old but was still not pleasant to see. Grease on the cooker, smelly fridge. The major issue was the ants, they were EVERYWHERE. When this was addressed at reception there was no offer to move as it’s a common issue, just to put ant powder down for us. Whilst this initially helped, by morning there would be hundreds of them back in the morning. This was very unpleasant, especially as they would be all over our daughter’s milk bottles on the kitchen surfaces. Whilst we did have a lovely holiday, we would definitely not be returning and are hesitant to visit anymore ParkDeans, we will stick to Haven in the future!

We stayed at romney sands for a week during half term. Our caravan was immaculate.I also noticed the cleaners get a much longer time frame to clean the vans compared to other sites/companys. The site was well maintained itself and was reasonably quiet as far as holiday sites go. As for the clubhouse we only went in to the main show bar twice and the restaurant on the sea front once; The young lady behind the bar was absolutely amazing ,knew what she was doing, Friendly and fast paced, however the other two barmen were abit slow, For example i asked for lime in a bottle of corona and he went to pour cordial in,I’m not sure if they had recently started but wasn’t an issue as we was mainly served by the young lady,The ladies who worked in the restaurant were lovely aswell happy to answer any questions,We didn’t get a chance to eat in the restaurant but the food looked nice. The arcade and clubhouse were also well maintained,There was a young lady called Amy on the entertainment team who stood out to me ,she made an effort to speak to guests and was very helpful answering questions. The site itself had enough to do ,we came with 3 adults and two teenagers; The train that runs through the site was great, aswell as the beach. One of our favourite activities though was action watersports about 10 minutes from the site we went twice on our trip,If booking with older children i’d definitely recommend. Overall the site was lovely in a great location and plenty to do

Fine for small kids, not for older ones. After a long journey we arrived to be told there was no water available between 2 and 4, morning and afternoon, due to 'water company restrictions' - though other nearby sites weren't affected. No compensation, we were just told to keep some water in the fridge. No wifi across the site and very little mobile coverage so really not great for teens. The park looks run down, with paint peeling off chalets and poorly maintained roads. It's in sore need of an overhaul and for what we paid I'd expected better. Our van was okay but no balcony, despite there being one in the booking photos - and I'd booked that van explicitly because I wanted a balcony for our dog. Reception staff simply told me that 'images are illustrative'. It's an interesting and quiet location with a good beach, but it didn't work out for us.

Bargain 3 day trip here. Upgraded to a silver caravan which was only a little bit dearer and well worth it. All staff we're pleasant and helpful. The entertainment girls were lovely and put on some great shows. Bingo is brilliant, opportunities to win decent money as all the parks play against each other. I had a cheeky win too 😉 the fishing lake is a nice touch if that's your thing. Our boys enjoyed catching a few fish while we were there.. didn't make it to the beach as it was bad weather but it's across the road so ideal if you get some sunshine 💛
