About Keswick Park Hotel

Derwentwater and Skiddaw are both within easy reach of Keswick Park Hotel, making it a practical base for walking, cycling, fishing or simply exploring the fells, while the town centre itself is just a short walk away with its own shops, pubs and restaurants to fill an evening.

The hotel has 17 rooms, including family rooms and en-suite options, some with views out towards the mountains. Breakfast is a particular strength, with a generous spread of choices to set guests up for a day on the fells, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for evening meals and drinks, along with packed lunches available for those heading out walking. It's worth noting that a few rooms show their age and could do with some updating, though the welcome from staff is consistently friendly.

Outside, there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating to make use of when the weather allows, plus meeting rooms, concierge services and laundry facilities for practical needs. Free on-site parking is provided, and golf, watersports and further walking and cycling routes are all nearby for those wanting to venture further afield.

An excellent hotel. Friendly staff ,,great breakfasts. Easy access to Keswick town and Derwent water. Bus stops close by for visits to all interesting towns and villages.i would recommend it to anyone and are considering returning again soon. We had the added bonus of the heatwave, but both the hotel and pubs in town were great for hydration breaks . A great holiday Tony and Sue

Great place to stay. Close to town, fairly easy to park. Beds super comfortable. A great bath for those that like to soak in a tub. The staff are super friendly. Felix gave us lots of advice on what to see in the area and could not have been more helpful. What really surprised me was their food! The burger was huge and perhaps the best burger I have ever had. But the sticky toffee pudding with hot custard won my heart. It was simply outstanding. Anthony is clearly one of the most talented chefs ever! I highly recommend this hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay here at Keswick Park Hotel. It's a beautiful building steeped in history with lots of original features that really add to it's character. We arrived really early (13:30) and decided to stick our head through the door. There was a very nice chap who let us park on the carpark until we checked in so we could have a wonder around town, this was much appreciated. The car park is small and it's first come, first served, but there are literally spaces within seconds if it happens to be full. Upon check-in we were greeted by another really nice chap who explained all we needed to know, then sent us off to our room. Room number 5 was on the top floor, up a couple of flights of very grand looking stairs. The room itself was very neat and tidy, with a nice bathroom, comfy beds, tv, kettle, fan etc. No issues with cleanliness whatsoever. It was a decent size and had a couple of small opening windows that allowed for a nice breeze. During our two night stay we had a few drinks on the terrace (they pour an awesome pint of Boddingtons) and in the morning took advantage of the free breakfast (which is top-notch 👌). There's a choice of cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, porridge, etc, practically every base is covered. Let's face it though, the cooked breakfast was the real highlight. My son and I opted for the full english both days, while the Mrs had eggs benedict one day, then smoked salmon the next, all served with a choice of fresh fruit juice and tea/coffee. Empty plates, full bellies and smiles all round. We had a couple of good chats with the lovely Scottish lady both mornings, nothing was too much trouble and she always wore a smile. Check out (at 10:30am) was also a breeze. Keys in the drop-box at reception, a few goodbyes and we were (sadly) on our way back to Manchester. So, to sum up our stay - Great hotel, amazing staff, perfect room and excellent food.

Reception Poor Breakfast ok and waitress very friendly. This was the only good thing about the hotel. Toilet didn’t flush. Unsanitary. Although the room seemed clean enough. Hairdryer was physically burnt out of shape.smelled of burning immediately as it was switched on. Kettle was on a shin high table. Difficult to lift when full and had to be filled with many trips to the bathroom tap with the tiny cups provided. It’s not that we minded but the cost of the room didn’t measure up with the experience. I wanted to watch the World Cup and the tv had to be wired in by us. The shower was dangerous and cubicle was tiny so when the temperature suddenly shot up you couldn’t move out the way. Scolding hazard. We left early and the only member of staff on duty ever was not interested with the toilet issue or shower and said and I quote ”I’ve not heard that one before” So don’t stay here is my suggestion. Oh and No free parking or help to find any.
