Cons; it smells badly of sewage everywhere! Came while the weather was hot, but there was no ac and they didn’t have fans. when we tried to open windows for air, it just smelt so badly of sewage. So just be mindful of that! If you’re excepting it to be right on the lake, it’s not. You can take a short walk to the pier and you can walk up the road about 5-10mins and get a decent view of the full lake. So we were a bit mislead by the photos. We had a view of the mountains from the room which was still very beautiful. Parking was fair, busy during meal times as there are few options for food in area so I assume people come here. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel as we wanted variety and for the price, it didn’t take our fancy. So took short drive into town instead. Warm welcome from reception staff which was nice. Room and bathroom all clean and pleasant. Quiet at night as you’d expect. We got back from dinner at about 10pm, by that time the bar and seating areas were all closed up which is a shame as we only had one night stay and would have liked to sit in the lobby with a drink in the eve especially on a bank holiday. Also, breakfast was nice and good quality. Only issue is hygiene - they clearly haven’t cleaned the windowsills right next to where people eat as there were dead flies all along it - we had to eat outside instead.

It’s a stunning spot and we had a nice spot. I ordered a glass of wine and no one could find the corkscrew, thankfully I had been gifted one the day before so re-gifted it to the venue, and eventually got my wine. The food was nice enough, and there is likely limited options in the area - so relax, have a wine and enjoy the food and amazing views. It was dog friendly and there were a few around. Would definitely come back.

It's hard to say enough good about Mary Mount. The location is amazing, right on Derwentwater lake not across the highway like all the others. Being well outside Keswick on the south end it is a true get away. There is a pier that allows you to enjoy the lake, kayak, or just take in the views. The food was excellent as was the room and the service. Highly recommended!

One night stay on a Saturday. Booked the same day, so only one very small room left. A little bit small in truth for a rate of £211. So small that you cant even get a bedside table on one side of the bed. Tv in room shockingly small and tv signal dreadful. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Bar and restaurant staff equally pleasant, helpful and efficient. Hotel has a great outside terrace area overlooking fantastic views. Nothing else nearby, so if you are looking for a relaxed break then this is your place Food ok, if a little overpriced, but to be expected from a hotel. Maybe would be nice to have some vending machines etc for room snacks given nothing near the hotel.
