Killin Log Cabins

Loved our 2 night stay here. Lovely cabin, well equipped kitchen, comfortable king-size bed. We enjoyed a sauna each morning followed by a lovely shower. Not over looked and very quiet. Below are 4 photos, 2 of the cabin through the trees and the view from the cabin. Sadly we didn't see a red squirrel, maybe next time

Stayed here with friends for 3 days and 3 nights - as our first foray into this area of Scotland, I must say we will definitely be returning! ♡ The cabin was lovely and quiet with all the amenities - we did opt to go between bank holidays to avoid a busy period, and we barely saw any other holidaymakers (which was amazing xD) - close to some lovely areas such as the Falls of Dochart, and the atmospheric Finlarig Castle, and the woodlands walk behind the cabins was just... amazing, we loved seeing the old woods with the stream, it really made the trip for me :D the owners themselves seemed lovely and very helpful - I really do hope to come again a similar time next year ♡

Lovely spacious cabin with excellent facilities. Beautiful, peaceful location with fantastic grounds for dog walking. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay! We will for sure come back.

This is truly the worst hospitality experience we've ever had in Scotland. After a stressful period of illness , we wanted to have a retreat in the country to rest and recover. Booked here (through airbnb) what was described as a cabin and has pictures of the view being rolling green hills. In reality this is not a cabin, it is a flimsy terraced chalet with a carpark as the view and neighbours on both sides. The walls are so thin you can hear every word, cough, and snore from next door. We could hear exactly what our neighbours on both sides were watching on television. This wasn't at all what we signed up for and on arriving and realising the extent of inaccuracies from the listing, messaged Glenda which she ignored. We waited til morning and called, her husband answered and I explained the issue, that we had anticipated somewhere peaceful and private. He was unable to offer a solution . I could hear Glenda shouting at him in the background sounding very agitated until she took the phone and unbelievably started shouting aggressively at me, blaming us for not "just speaking to the neighbours". We didn't want to speak to the neighbours about the noise because it's normal for anyone to watch TV and talk when they're on holiday. The issue is that the accommodation is so flimsy that it affords zero privacy. Her husband then came round and gave the neighbours a telling off about the noise, which made us feel terrible and so awkward. We decided at that point that we couldn't possibly stay there any longer. We spoke to the neighbours before we left and apologised for the situation and made sure they knew it wasn't their fault. I tried repeatedly to call Glenda and left a message asking her to call me back but she never got back in touch so had to do the cancellation through Airbnb. We stayed one night of three - yet paid the full £308 and only got £28 returned to us because Glenda refused to refund us. Airbnb tried their best to help us with this issue but because we didn't have a recording of the noise levels or the phonecall they couldn't do anything as everything must be evidenced. We were too upset and shocked at the time to think about recording anything. Aside from this, the "cabin" itself is shabby and has an overwhelming smell that is reminiscent of an old folks home. The tea mugs had dirty old mould on them and the carpets and sofas quite clearly have not had any deep clean in a long time and been used as animal beds. As long as you don't need privacy, peace or have particular hygiene standards, this place would be acceptable. If you dont have any issues, then I imagine the hosts will be pleasant. However unless something else was going on with them that day, they seem incapable of dealing with customer issues appropriately. I wish I'd looked at their reviews on other sites before giving them our money. Seems many people have had similar problems. Loch Tay is gorgeous and we would recommend the area. Update 1.6.23 Just noticed Glenda's comments in response to my review. Lol. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but instead of being able to use critical feedback to her benefit, she's gone on the attack. Says all you need to know about her as a host. Thankfully this experience is just a distant bad memory now!!
