Woolmarket House occupies a merchant's house dating to the mid-15th century on St Nicholas Street, close to Tuesday Market Place in the heart of King's Lynn's historic quarter. The building has been carefully renovated to provide guest accommodation while keeping its exposed timber beams and period features on show, including in rooms such as the Merchants Room.
A full breakfast is included with every stay, and the house's central position means the Custom House, the Minster and the town's main shops are all within walking distance. Sandringham and Houghton Hall are around fifteen minutes away by car, with Holkham Hall roughly half an hour further.
This is a good fit for visitors who want to stay inside a genuinely old building in the town centre, with a personal, small-scale welcome rather than a hotel-style operation.

Woolmarket House was the perfect place to stay after our wedding. They were really flexible with timing, which we appreciated as we weren’t sure exactly when we’d arrive. After a long but happy day, it was so lovely to get there — it was the perfect space to come back to after the wedding — and be welcomed by Paul and Paul, who were both incredibly friendly and accommodating. They showed us to our room, which was a beautiful suite with a seating area and en suite — really spacious and very stylish. We slept so well, which was especially impressive given it’s on a main road. Check-in and check-out were both really easy, and the breakfast the next morning was superb. It was exactly what we wanted after our wedding, and we’d happily stay there again — even though we live just down the road.
