What visitors say
Well run by volunteers. A nice bunch that are quite willing to chat about the train, railway and history. Not to forget the signal box where had a brief 'tour'. Well worth a visit to keep this attraction going.

Got lucky as reached there after 4. Beautiful toy train being run completely by volunteers ONLY on Sundays between 2-4 pm. Very nice and cool staff. Took us all in after the last ride and whole load of information as well. 🫡. Highly recommend a visit.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Combine it with a visit with the mining museum in Leadhills. Currently, they're only open on Sundays, due to staffing issues, but it's a nice little ride in pleasant countryside, with the bonus of being able to split your journey to visit Wanlockhead, the highest village in Scotland.

Fantastic little narrow gauge railway. Took a little diesel engine from Leadhills to Wanlockhead passing Hillend Summit. From here I walks down to the village of Wanlockhead a very interesting place with lots of mining history the visitor centre and museum was excellent. The train ride took about 20mins each way. I would deffo do it again as I didn’t have time to do the mine museum unground tour this time. What a lovely bit of history
