What visitors say
Traveling to Skye in the summer of 2024, I was late in making plans for us, and when I went to book a room for 4, there was one left on the entire island. It was a cottage at Armadale Castle. This turned out to be one of the luckiest finds. After staying in hotels, we loved having this cozy cabin to ourselves, and to wake up and make our own coffee to enjoy on the terrace while watching the unbelievable landscape wake up, is an experience I will never forget. It was felt remote but was not far from more bustling areas. It was so memorable. I would absolutely stay there again if I return to Skye. The service was great. They provided a Whats App number that you could message at any time.

First of all, this accommodation was located in a beautiful place and had a very beautiful view. The cabin rooms were so cozy and they were extremely clean. We loved the hospitality and we totally enjoy the stay, I would 100 % recommend this place to everyone who’s planning for a staycation In Isle of Skye.

Armadale is the last huge home of the head of the MacDonald Clan. It is now an estate and series of grounds with museum, ruins, guest houses and gardens. The rooms were great, location stunningly beautiful, food in cafe solidly ok even at the very end of the lunch hour. Staff was kind, knowledgeable and very generous with their time. Gardens huge and mostly exquisitely kept - the scruffy stuff was well off the beaten track and one would not expect it to be maintained with anything more than rugged quick log moves or thorn bushes hacked back. Proximity to villages and countryside excellent! Restaurants nearby DO require reservations in summer!! Winter unknown… but less likely to need early warning. Call for availability for sure. Would not surprise me to see them dial way back in fall and spring… even close in winter! News afoot is a property sale is pending but character may stay the same. Do ask about latest details of this when planning. Great location to stay if starting a seafaring adventure. Small harbor nearby with some boatyard services. Worth inquiring. Highly recommended overall
