After struggling with a back issue for two years I am now completely pain free. Beyond that I have a real sense of wellbeing knowing that I am looking after my body in all aspects. Innes is a warm and caring instructor whose guidance, knowledge and attention has made such a difference to my recovery and overall strength and I am so grateful for the support I have received here. I am so pleased with the results I have even encouraged my husband to join. I would encourage anyone regardless of age or ability to try Pilates to improve both mental and physical wellbeing.

As a woman in my 60's, I recently discovered that I had osteopenia, and therefore needed to take serious measures to keep my bones healthy and reduce my risk of developing osteoporosis. My weekly attendance at Ian's sessions plays a fundamental role in this endeavour. I started 4 months ago and have experienced noticeable improvements in my strength and flexibility, core stability and balance. Ian has designed a programme tailored for my needs (as he does with everyone) and introduces appropriate variations as I progress, so you never become complacent or bored. I also enjoy the fact that Pilates is a very mindful exercise and a good brain workout as well. The atmosphere in the studio is friendly and supportive with the added bonus of Ian's good humour! I look forward to attending each week and would highly recommend.

After years of inactivity and a sedentary job and lifestyle, I was feeling far older than my 43years. So much so, that my mobility was restricted by my back pain and stiffness - to the point that I struggled with basic everyday tasks like tying my shoes, nevermind running around after my three kids. I had come to breaking point where I needed to do something, as I was miserable and in pain. Declining opportunities due to fears of making my back worse or doing myself an injury. I contacted the centre via email and received a phone call from Ian. We further discussed my history and issues and Ian was confident that I should expect to see results within a matter of weeks. I was a little sceptical but willing to try anything at this stage. He has been true to his word. After meeting with Innes for my hourly, weekly sessions (over the past 7 weeks) I am feeling great. No more pain and minimal stiffness of a morning. Innes is very knowledgeable and patient with his instructions, and he manages to get me to do a little more each week. I’m so glad that I made the decision to bite the bullet and do something about my mobility. I highly recommend to anyone who is thinking about it. The only question you will ask yourself - is why you didn’t do it sooner.

I started pilates at Leeds Pilates Centre a few month ago to improve my flexibility and help with muscle tightness due to weight lifting. The instructors are very knowledgeable and tailor exercises to your needs in a small group setting. I go to Innes’s sessions and can’t recommend him enough for anyone wanting to take up pilates. He takes time to understand your needs and explains each exercise until you get the proper form. The studio is very well equipped with multiple reformers.
