What guests say
We stayed in the family room, even though there were only 2 of us. The room is space themed, with one wall decorated as the Plough Nebula and lights in the ceiling in the shape of the Plough constellation. The children's bunk beds are in a small room off the main bedroom. This small room is also space themed with a 'control panel with lots of knows and switches. The hotel was really clean and comfortable. The evening meal an breakfast were tasty and the staff were polite and helpful.

Having Afternoon Tea at The Belmont was a super way to celebrate my retirement. We were offered a bright and airy private dining room. The table was laid out with fresh linens and tea cups in anticipation of us arriving. The daintily presented food was delicious and there was plenty of it (some of it even came home with us). All dietary needs were catered for and the waitress clearly explained everything so no one needed to worry. Our drinks were replenished as often as we wanted. The service was attentive and faultless.

The room could use a good cleaning, especially around the windows and lights. The junior suite lacked air conditioning so a fan was provided on request. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location offering a peaceful night’s sleep, plenty of restaurants and helpful friendly staff. I asked for extra water which was provided but it would be better if it was always available in the room given the hot weather. The sink water is drinkable but I’m not comfortable with that. There’s plenty of parking space although I didn’t use a car and I’m sure you can register with the hotel if you do. Overall, it’s worth checking out and some modernisation and cleaning would be nice in a suite. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to wake up early for breakfast on my last night because I had a late night and the hotel staff were wonderful enough to give me a late check out. However, my sleep was broken by staff calling me to check in which was a bit irritating since I had already confirmed a late check-in before I went to bed. Why would you call a guest staying then apologise for waking them up? It’s a bit daft.

I have stayed at The Belmont Hotel in Leicester City numerous times whilst on business. Be that for a few days or a few weeks. I am currently here now. This is a charming hotel which is a five minute walk from where I need to be for work. It is minutes away from the railway station on foot and is close to an array of restaurants. The hotel itself boasts free parking, a quick and easy check-in, delicious food both at breakfast time and throughout the day, and pleasantly presented rooms with water and biscuits replenished daily. Staff are friendly and welcoming, but in particularly, Olivia (Liv) stands out by a mile. She is the reception manager. Nothing is too much trouble for her. If you need something, she will sort it quickly and effortlessly with a smile. I have had occasion where I have checked out only to find out that I unexpectedly need to remain for another day for example - she has effortlessly made arrangements for a quick check-in for me again. Even when they have been full, for say a day or two, during a period of time I need to stay here, she has had me on a reserve list and somehow managed to squeeze me in for the entire duration I require at short notice. She is a dream and a real asset to the hotel. If you are a business owner in the hospitality sector, she is the type of star-employee that you would really want on your leadership team. A more recent addition to the team on reception is Aurora. She is equally helpful and hard-working with a really pleasant manner. Nothing is any trouble for her if you need assistance with anything. I have observed her helping other guests too who have walked away with a smile after interacting with her. To summarise - this hotel is brilliant. But Olivia (Liv) and her team member Aurora really add significant value to the establishment to make your visit a welcoming one and one that you would care to repeat. Thank you both. And thank you Belmont Hotel.
