About Rock House Glamping
Tucked into the hamlet of North Chailey in East Sussex, a short walk from the village of Newick, Rock House Glamping offers a handful of individually designed bell tents with elegant furnishings, luxurious bedding and soft lighting. Each pitch comes with its own firepit, and the peaceful grounds make this a proper wildlife haven for those seeking quiet countryside breaks.
The facilities are thoughtful—communal fridges and freezers, a dedicated washing-up area, spacious showers and loos—though with only a handful of pitches, booking ahead is essential. Level, hard-surfaced paths and accessible parking make it suitable for guests with mobility needs. Beyond the site, the South Downs National Park offers excellent walking, while historic Lewes lies 15 minutes away by car and Brighton is half an hour's drive for a seaside day out.

What visitors say
We recently spent a weekend at Rock House Glamping and it was honestly one of the most relaxing and luxurious glamping experiences we’ve ever had. The setting is absolutely spectacular – peaceful, tranquil and completely surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to switch off and recharge. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was somewhere special. We were also celebrating a birthday during our stay, and Jill made our arrival extra special with balloons and a thoughtful welcome pack waiting for us. It was such a lovely touch and made the celebration feel even more memorable and personal. The facilities are exceptional and finished to a very high standard. We particularly loved having our own designated private bathroom complete with fluffy towels and high-quality toiletries, which made the whole experience feel incredibly luxurious and far beyond traditional camping. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. Our bell tent was beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and thoughtful touches that made it cosy and inviting. Having our own fire pit and outdoor seating area was a real highlight, allowing us to spend our evenings under the stars in total peace and quiet. The site perfectly combines the beauty of the outdoors with all the comforts you could want. A special mention has to go to Jill, the owner, who is simply the loveliest person and an exceptional host. Nothing was ever too much trouble. From helping us set up our fire pit to recommending local places to visit and sharing her knowledge of the area, she genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Her warmth, attention to detail and genuine care for her guests are what truly make Rock House Glamping so special. We also had one member of our group with mobility issues, and Jill was incredibly accommodating and considerate of their needs and wellbeing throughout our stay, which meant so much to us and made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a peaceful countryside escape that offers luxury, comfort and a genuine connection with nature, I cannot recommend Rock House Glamping highly enough. We left feeling completely refreshed, with wonderful memories of a very special birthday celebration, and we’re already planning our return visit. A hidden gem – luxury glamping at its very best.
