About The Grain Store Lewes

The Grain Store is a luxury self-catering conversion on the Old Brighton Road at the edge of Lewes, positioned directly on the South Downs Way with open views over the surrounding chalk grassland. The building's agricultural origins are reflected in its tall, light-filled interior, with the main house sleeping up to eight guests and a separate smaller studio available for couples or additional guests.

Inside, the property favours contemporary design over rustic pastiche, with high ceilings, large windows and an open-plan living and kitchen space geared towards groups who want to cook and entertain rather than eat out every night. A private sauna and outdoor space add to the retreat feel, and the owners also offer the house for small events, meetings and photography use outside of standard holiday lets.

Its position on the edge of town keeps it quiet at night while still being within walking or cycling distance of the High Street, the castle and the railway station, making it a practical choice for a group wanting both downland access and easy trips into Lewes itself.

What a find!! Six friends cycling the South Downs Way, arriving at the Grain Store is like finding an oasis in the desert! Amazing location and views, the house is so comfortable and well fitted out. And the hot tub just topped it off. We'll be back!

Can't add to all these great and true reviews.....we've just had a wonderful weekend in the Studio and will return for sure. (One request.... please label the three classy organic teas. Coffee so welcome btw, as was the delicious pear juice)

This holiday home is so stunning. The views are so beautiful, it feels like your very secluded even though its not far from Lewes and Brighton and a main road (which you cant hear at all). All the little touches really make it special - the wonderful tea, coffee, gorgeous smelling soaps and scents around the house. The hot tub is also such fun, especially as we came for a weekend girls trip and did some pampering and drank bubbles. Highly recommend, cant fault this place in any way!!

We had a wonderful time in the Studio. It‘s super clean, has a modern bathroom and a lovely atmosphere. The sun shines in the morning and evening wonderful on the field, which gives you instant a warm and welcoming feeling. You can hear the traffic, but the singing birds make you forget it quickly. The conversation with the manager was perfect as well and always helpful.
