About Creston Villa Guest House
Creston Villa is a traditional Victorian town house built around 1874 on St Catherine's, opposite South Common, roughly fifteen minutes' walk from Lincoln city centre and the railway station. It has held a Enjoy England Five Star Gold Award, reflecting the quality of its six individually furnished bedrooms and the old-fashioned elegance the owners have preserved in the building.
Rates include a continental breakfast with hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes, along with free fast wifi, digital televisions and unrestricted on-street parking directly outside, a genuine convenience given how limited parking can be closer to the historic centre. A small drinks licence adds an evening bar option not always found at similarly sized guest houses.
Its setting on South Common, a large expanse of open grassland on the edge of the city, gives Creston Villa a quieter, greener outlook than properties closer to the cathedral, suiting visitors who want a peaceful base for a longer stay or who are happy to walk into the centre rather than stay within its immediate bustle.

Came here for my 20th birthday and I couldn't reccomend it enough to anyone who wants to stay in Lincoln! First of all, it's a lovely and quaint place to stay, the decor is unique and full of charm. The room was absolutely spotless and had so much character, even with its own small trolley for teas, coffees and hot chocolates all of which was free of charge! However, what I found to be the absolute best aspect of Creston Villa were the hosts. Such a brilliant couple, very inviting and friendly and they truly made the trip. On the morning of my birthday, outside my door was a box of chocolates and a card followed by a lovely morning conversation during breakfast. They're knowledgable of the area, very hospitable and Anna and Ian make a mean breakfast! Anna and Ian - if you happen to read this, thank you very much! I won't be forgetting that trip.

I have never felt so welcome and at home when away. The couple that own and run this guest house are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. They really went the extra mile to make our birthday weekend special and memorable. The room was immaculate and full of character, the breakfast was a homemade continental selection with lots of options. We are so glad we found this little gem just a short distance from central Lincoln and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thank you guys!

We had such a wonderful stay at this charming, ancient place. The place is full of character, history, and cozy beauty, but what truly made it special was the couple who owns it. Their hospitality was warm, genuine, and heartfelt, making us feel more like guests in a home than visitors in a hotel. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, and their kindness made our experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone who loves peaceful stays with a personal touch.

The most charming, adorable guesthouse and Iain and Anna are simply the warmest, kindest hosts that you will probably ever meet! I stayed in the Victorian room, which (like the rest of the home) is beautifully decorated with many interesting and quirky antiques. Yet, every single item is somehow immaculately clean - it’s pretty incredible. Even if you’re not a breakfast person, the continental breakfast is worth getting up for. Make sure you don’t miss Anna’s homemade jams (or chutneys, if you’re having some cold cuts), and take a delicious oatie cookie for the road! Comfortable bed and the room is well-stocked with everything you could need (including good wifi, complimentary tea, coffee, water, and snacks - plus an open invitation to help yourself to cookie bars and milk in the breakfast room whenever you wish). Also (which isn’t true of everywhere I’ve been in the UK, including hotels): the heating is super efficient and if you like things toasty, you can actually have it that way! Great location: 15-20 minutes’ walk to the city centre, straight down the high street (which also has many buses), in a lovely green area. I stayed here overnight for work and am now daydreaming of returning on a romantic little vacation. Wholeheartedly recommend!
