About DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lincoln
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lincoln occupies a converted industrial site on Brayford Wharf North, right on the water's edge at Brayford Pool, the medieval harbour that now forms the heart of the city's waterside quarter. Many rooms look directly out over the marina, with others facing uphill towards the cathedral, giving guests one of the best views in the city without leaving their room.
The hotel is less than a mile from Lincoln Central railway station and within easy walking distance of the High Street, the university campus and the bars and restaurants that line the pool, making it a practical base for both business travellers and leisure visitors who want modern facilities close to transport links. An on-site restaurant and bar overlook the water, and the hotel's warm chocolate chip cookie on arrival is a small signature touch of the brand.
Rooms are contemporary in style, with the reliable standard of finish expected of the Hilton portfolio, and the hotel's position makes the climb up to the cathedral and castle a manageable walk for anyone happy to tackle Steep Hill, or a short taxi ride for those who would rather not.
What guests say
It was too expensive for what was provided, over £200 a night room only. No free parking at the hotel and no free space to park and pay at the hotel. This is a very basic hotel, with basic provisions in the rooms, no bottles of water in the room. We could not open the curtians as our windows looked on to a block of rooms, both covered with pegion excrements, not a pleasant sight. Pleasant and nice staff.

Great stay, nice and central hotel ideal for visiting the city. Nice and clean room, we went to the Marco Pierre White restaurant and had an excellent meal, the staff were very good. The down side was the carpet and floor was dirty with clearly visable stains. Not what you would expect. The cocktail bar on the top floor was fantastic with a beautiful view of the wharf. Overall great value for money

Firstly, you have to be careful when driving up to the hotel, as it's a public path also. When we arrived their was a function, which meant driving very carefully to avoid an accident. When you finally arrive, the car park was made for children's toy cars. Not for those with any physical disabilities. The service was ok, nothing exceptional. We needed assistance with the AC in the room, called a few times, we were informed that maintenance were coming, never came. Breakfast, however, was OK, definitely on par with Premier Inn.

Our second stay here in a year and I can honestly say this is THE best hotel I have stayed at in the UK. The staff, from the reception to the restaurant and everyone in between are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spotless and modern and the beds are huge and comfortable. The location is also excellent, on the picturesque Brayford Wharf which offers a variety of drink and dining options. Lastly it is dog friendly so your best friend is welcome. What’s not to like - highly recommend!
