About Sunnyside Pop-up Camping

Tucked into the rolling High Weald between East Grinstead and Royal Tunbridge Wells, Sunnyside Pop-up Camping blends back-to-basics charm with a distinctly Scandinavian touch. The four wildflower-rich fields offer plenty of breathing room for families and their four-legged friends, while the authentic Finnish wood-fired sauna provides a luxurious counterpoint to the composting loos and gas shower. Campfires crackle in the communal area come evening, and there's a relaxed, friendly vibe that reviewers consistently praise.

The location is a walker's dream: the High Weald Landscape Trail runs along the lower boundary, National Trust's Standen House sits just ten minutes' footpath away, and the local pub – complete with canine menu – is an easy amble across the fields. You might even hear the whistle of the Bluebell Railway drifting over from nearby Horsted Keynes. It's a thoroughly low-impact, eco-minded setup, though facilities are deliberately simple – this is proper wild camping rather than glamping comfort.

Such a special place! Katja and Heath have created a lovely campsite with a genuine warm and welcoming atmosphere, and good vibes. You can really feel it’s a lifelong project. Great value too compared to other sites! The campsite is a massive plot - lots of families camp at the top (near the onsite amenities) but there are wilder fields towards the bottom where you feel like you’re wild camping in the long grass and can really hear the wildlife. Sauna was so lovely with a campfire and shower (£5 for the weekend) and the on-site curry van on Friday night made things easy on arrival. Lots of walks and heritage houses and a vineyard nearby to scope out by foot. We took the train to East Grinstead and then a bus so is very easy to get to from London without a car. We only stayed one night but caught a bit of the communal bbq on Saturday night before we left (sad to have missed that, but thank you for the salmon tasting!). Will definitely be going again and bringing some friends ⭐ thanks for a lovely weekend…

We spent 3 night camping here with our 5 and 3 year old and loved it. The food van and on the Friday night was so useful after battling traffic for hours (and delicious) and the cocktails were a great touch. The field is gorgeous and the hosts are so friendly. We loved the bucket shower especially as it was 30C! And we enjoyed the area - we saw the steam train which the kids loved, we went kayaking and explored Ashdown Forest. The whole place had a really relaxed vibe - everyone enjoying themselves - and we have come back to London feeling rejuvenated. Just what we needed and we will certainly be coming back.

Amazing pop up campsite. Very budget friendly. There is so much to do in the local area - from the bluebell railway, Standon House, Ashdown Forest (we took a trek to Pooh Sticks Bridge) and so much more! The facilities are basic but clean. We didnt try the sauna but it looked amazing and the children enjoyed playing with the other children on site on the swing and chatting around the big campfire. The fireplace hire was perfect for cooking, toasting marshmallows and keeping warm with i ln the evenings. Thoroughly recommend.

One of the best camping spots I've been to in a long time! Tons of space, heaps of room for families and groups up top. Quiet, secluded fields down the bottom for couples and solos. Excellently maintained, simple facilities that do exactly what you need. Lovely communal, friendly energy and space created by the hosts. Recommend to all wanting a quiet getaway and tons to explore nearby.
