Hidden Corner Camping
19 Millbank Ln, Liverpool L31 9AT, UK
Small five-pitch certificated site at Melling, around 10 miles from Liverpool centre
About Hidden Corner Camping
Hidden Corner is a Camping and Caravanning Club certificated site tucked into a smallholding at Melling, roughly ten miles north of Liverpool city centre. Limited to five pitches by law, this is a quiet grass field with metered electric hook-ups rather than a commercial park — expect hens wandering the hedgerows instead of site entertainment. Facilities are simple but clean: a well-kept toilet block with hot showers, washing-up area, water, chemical disposal and ice-pack freezing. Fresh eggs from the owners' chickens are often for sale, which gives you the measure of the place. Dogs are welcome, and booking ahead is essential given the tiny pitch count.
The real draw is accessibility. Local pubs and a shop sit within walking distance, while nearby Merseyrail stations put you in Liverpool Central in around half an hour — handy for sightseeing without shifting the van. Aintree racecourse, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath and the beaches at Crosby and Formby are all close by. Owners consistently earn praise for their local knowledge and helpfulness.

What visitors say
I absolutely love this little gem of a place. Set in a semi rural location you feel like you are at one with nature, waking to the lovely sound of birdsong every morning. The site is not too far from Maghull village where there are lots of nice shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. It’s a great location for exploring the Sefton coast. The site is beautifully looked after and has a really friendly feel about it. I’ll be back for sure to this Hidden Gem.

A friendly site. It was good having a member of staff on site so we could arrange arrival and departure times. The toilets were clean and well supplied and the site has grey water and chemical disposal facilities.

Site is perfect location for accessing Liverpool. We were at a gig in Anfield so staying here in our caravan was ideal as only a short walk to the train station. The facilities could do with a makeover as a little tatty, but adequate with 3 toilets & a shower. The electric hook up is only 5 or 6amp though so my hairdryer tripped the circuit. However, there is a plug socket in the facilities block next to a big mirror so all good. There is a list in there aswell that tells you what you can use that won't trip the electric. All in all a great site for location, just could do with a tidy up.

The lady who runs this site is moving on. That's fine by me. She seems awfully stressed and didn't have a minute to show me anything on site.I was the only person there. Site is small backs on to a non adopted road. Minimum traffic. Cash only. Shops near by. Great pub the Scotch piper worth a visit.
