About DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel and Spa Liverpool
For anyone combining a bit of pampering with a city break, DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel and Spa Liverpool works well as a base on Sir Thomas Street, close to the Cavern Quarter, the waterfront and the main shopping streets. It suits couples after a spa weekend, shoppers wanting to be near the main streets, and business travellers who need meeting space and a central address, though it's less suited to those wanting a quiet retreat given its busy city-centre setting.
The hotel has 87 rooms across seven floors, including family rooms and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and room service. Rooms are generally spacious and comfortable, though some have been reported as needing better upkeep, so it's worth bearing in mind. Guests get free WiFi throughout, and facilities extend to a gym, indoor swimming pool and spa offering massages and other treatments, plus a restaurant, bar, snack bar and breakfast each morning.
Beyond the spa, there's a bridal suite and meeting rooms for weddings and business events, along with concierge, porter and laundry services for anyone needing extra support during their stay. Parking is available nearby for a fee. With bars, restaurants and entertainment all within easy reach, and the waterfront and shopping districts close by, it's a practical spot for exploring the city centre on foot.

Stayed here recently for work and it struck a really nice balance between business-friendly and a bit more personality than your usual chain hotel. The location is spot on for getting around Liverpool, which made the work side of the trip easy. The meeting spaces are well set up, and everything runs smoothly enough that you can focus on what you’re there to do. What I liked most though is that it doesn’t feel overly corporate. The décor has a bit of character, the atmosphere is more relaxed, and it’s a good place to host clients without it feeling too formal or stiff. Service was solid throughout—professional, quick, and no fuss. All in all, a reliable choice for business travel, but with enough style to make it a bit more enjoyable than the standard option.

What a lovely night. Made this way with the help of the great team at Hilton. The reception manager maggy is such a lovely person. She went above and beyond for my family to enjoy our stay. Upgraded us twice for a small fee and then we met the owner of the business. What an amazing kind gentleman. Safe to say we will be staying agin when we get away from the kids. Thank you maggy and the team. You made it a very special night

I attended a wedding yesterday (1st August) and I had pre ordered a vegetarian meal; this had been confirmed to me by the man who seemed to be in charge of sorting meals for tables out multiple times from his sheet. Starter was all vegetarian so there was no issue and then as soon as it came to the mains he pointed out to not give me the meat meal and to send over the risotto. My whole table had their meals and I told them to start eating, it took 40 minutes for my meal to come out. My whole table had finished their meals and multiple other tables were being cleared and people were getting up and moving about. We asked 3 different people where the meal was and they just advised “we’ll check” and no one ever came over to say what the issue was. My meal then came after 40 minutes and it was tomato pasta and not mushroom risotto as advised. When the man brought it over he said “it’s because we weren’t aware you were a vegetarian” yet it had been confirmed multiple times prior. He was then quite rude and dismissive about the situation and there was no actual apology for it. Considering the price paid for these packages, it was very disappointing and the service was very rude throughout the wedding. We went downstairs to the bar for coffee and cokes (when the wedding bar ran out at 9pm) and they were lovely and so polite.
