About The Liner Hotel

Free on-site parking is not something many Liverpool city-centre hotels can offer, but The Liner Hotel on Lord Nelson Street manages it, making it a practical base for anyone arriving by car. The maritime theme runs through the building, a nod to the city's seafaring history, and the location puts guests within easy reach of the main attractions.

The 152 rooms are clean and generously sized, each stocked with complimentary water, biscuits and a coffee machine, so there's little need to head out for a hot drink first thing. Some rooms can pick up noise from the street or corridors, worth bearing in mind for light sleepers. Breakfast is well regarded and the on-site restaurant and bar cover evening meals and drinks, while air conditioning and a lift add to the comfort. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and concierge services and luggage storage are on hand for those exploring the city on foot.

The hotel also functions as a wedding venue, and its central spot means pubs, bars and restaurants are all close by for evenings out. For a straightforward, well-equipped stay in the heart of Liverpool with parking sorted, it does the job well.

A good hotel if you're on a budget. The rooms are a little tired and ours had no air conditioning and overlooked Liverpool Lime Street railway station, so we were well versed on the regular announcements! All the staff we encountered were great. The breakfast was reasonable value for money. They have their own car park next door which is very handy.

The rooms were clean, tidy and well laid out, with good space. The location was perfect for us, in easy walking distance of the city and very close to the theatre. It has everything expected of a relatively modern (second half of the 20th century) hotel. The public areas have air conditioning but the rooms do not. It appears that they were originally fitted with aircon but, in a more recent refit, this was deemed unnecessary so has been blocked off. For most of the time in the UK, this is acceptable but, it does seem like the fan system for the aircon also provided power to the bathroom extractor fans which didn't work. After complaining about a couple of things in our first room, we were moved to another, on a different floor, so I am pretty sure it's not a single room or area issue. This is a very reasonably priced hotel and is thoroughly adequate for the price. Breakfasts and restaurant were OK too.

Great hotel, stayed on the hottest day of the year and even with a fan in the room sleeping was not easy. The fridge in the room was also out of operation..lit up when opened but room temperature inside. Hotel is lovely and the free gust parking is great, location is very central too in this wonderful city. Bed was reasonably comfy altho a little on the springy side. Because of the (insulation?) sliders in the window frame the window cannot be fully opened, again only an issue due to the extreme temperature the day we stayed.

Located next door the Liverpool Lime Street station, the hotel is very well located for access to central Liverpool. Check in was smooth, and the lady on the front desk was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and tidy, although warm as the window only opened a little and there was no air conditioner. The room overlooked the station and the platform announcements were loud. The room has a powerful fan and this made a big difference to the warm environment. I would stop again, although I would preference a hotel at the front of the property.
