About Dolafon Guest House
High Street in Llanberis runs close to the lake and beneath the surrounding mountains, and it's here that Dolafon Guest House occupies a house dating back to the 1860s. The setting puts guests within easy reach of the water's edge and the hills that draw walkers and cyclists to the area, with a pub, restaurant and eatery all nearby.
There are six rooms across three floors, each with an en-suite bathroom, mini bar, free WiFi and mountain views. Rooms keep a traditional feel in keeping with the age of the building. A continental breakfast is included each morning, and reception is staffed around the clock. Free on-site parking is available for those arriving by car.
Sygun Copper Mine gives visitors a local point of interest to explore, while Bangor lies about ten miles away for a wider day out. Dolafon suits guests who want a straightforward, well-placed base for walking and cycling in Snowdonia, rather than a polished hotel experience.
What guests say
As you enter Llanberis on the main road with cafes, and restaurants within a short walks. The couple who runs the place were amazing. They are the kind of people who will let you be on your own and ready to help when you need. The room was of decent size. We took the one with an ensuit. Comes with the usual tea, coffee, biscuits and what not. The bathroom is decent sized with good flow of hot water. Better to note : There was atleast one room where you have a private bathroom outside the room. If thats not something you are comfortable with, better to check which room you are getting before you book

We had a fantastic stay at Dolafon Guest House while visiting Llanberis and hiking Snowdon with a friend. After long days in the mountains, it was the perfect place to relax. The hosts were incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, making us feel at home from the start. They were always happy to help and made our stay truly special. Highly recommend and would gladly return!

We stayed at Dolafon Guest House and absolutely loved our experience. The place is run by a lovely couple, and everything was perfect — spotless, cozy, warm, and very close to the town centre. The breakfast was outstanding; you honestly won’t find anything more delicious outside. They offer overnight oats, a full Welsh or vegetarian Welsh breakfast, fried or scrambled eggs on toast, and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on a toasted bagel. There is also a small buffet area with yogurt, oats, bananas, orange juice, and milk. The house has six rooms and is clearly a beautifully converted traditional property. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the towels smelled wonderfully fresh. We used Dolafon as a base to visit nearby towns such as Conwy, Beaumaris, Llandudno, Caernarfon, and Betws-y-Coed — all only about 15–20 miles away. We visited in November, so some attractions like trains and the Puffin Island tour were closed for the season, but the peacefulness and quiet of the area made our trip even more relaxing. A huge thank you to the owners of Dolafon Guest House for providing us with such a warm, welcoming home during our stay. We will definitely return!

My partner and I had a great stay here! The owners are really friendly and the breakfast was perfect. The location is excellent if you are planning to hike Snowdon and there is parking available onsite which is ideal. I would highly recommend staying here, it was great value for the price and we would definitely visit again.
