What visitors say

Aleksandra Behrendt

We visited Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall, our very first waterfall experience ❤️ and it was absolutely beautiful and stunning. A true display of the power of nature, still untouched and not yet destroyed by humans. The place is located around 4 hours from our hometown, but the journey was completely worth it. The views on the way to the waterfall and the small nearby towns felt like stepping back into the 70s or 80s era, which only made the whole experience feel even more magical. The road leading to the waterfall is very narrow and small, so please drive carefully. Parking is available near the waterfall, but the car park is not very big and the place becomes busy very quickly. Unfortunately, the parking fees are overpriced, and charging separately for toilets feels unnecessary. Toilet access should really be included in the parking fee, especially if visitors are already spending money in the shop or café. There are only two payment options available: £5.40 for up to 4 hours or £10 for longer stays, even though most people probably spend only 1–1.5 hours there. Access closer to the waterfall could also be improved with more safety rails and support along the steep hill. The path is slippery and muddy, which is understandable in a natural place like this, but visitor safety should still be a priority, especially for people without hiking experience. Despite these issues, this beautiful waterfall has definitely inspired us to explore more places like this in the future. It is absolutely worth visiting because no parking fee can replace the time spent with family and friends. The unforgettable memories will last forever.

Beautiful local nature spot. I did a group walk to a nearby lake and started and finished at the waterfalls. There are few levels to the falls, all beautiful. The toilets cost 50p so get your coins ready or the cafe can help out and 'change' card payments for 50p coins. If you'd like a pint, the cafe doesn't provide this, but they do have a great selection of baked good and soft drinks. I had 3 :D The car park was easy to find and to pay too.

A beautiful stay on our way home to Birmingham. We stayed longer than anticipated because it was such a beautiful place. Plenty of parking (around £5), 50p turnstile toilets, small cafe with a great menu - we recommend the toasties. Plenty of outdoor seating, where you can enjoy your food and drinks with the sounds and views of the falls. Base of the waterfall was very easy to get to (i managed it whilst baby-wearing). Highly recommend taking the kids for a paddle. Lots of photo opportunities along the way. We made lovely memories today! Photo is taken from the cafe's outdoor seating.

Parking on site for small fee, quaint cafe on site to grab hot drink and slice of cake. Waterfall can be busy, but if you hang back and wait for people to leave then it's pretty stunning up close. Good 20-30 min walk to the top of the waterfall for amazing views - worth the walk. Nice and quiet up the top also so can spend some time there withoit hurrying down
