What visitors say
I recently watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the cinema in West India Quay. Overall, the experience was okay, but there are a few things that could definitely be improved. The cinema itself has a real nostalgic feel, almost like it’s stuck in the 1980s. I don’t actually mind that retro atmosphere, but the venue could really do with a thorough clean, as parts of it felt quite dirty and worn. The staff, however, were excellent as always friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the visit. The biggest disappointment was the audience during my screening. There were several people screaming, shouting, and talking loudly throughout the film, which completely disrupted the experience. It’s frustrating when you’re there to enjoy a movie and other customers ruin it. I think the cinema should do more to monitor screenings and step in when disruptive behaviour is affecting everyone else’s enjoyment. The staff are a credit to the cinema, but the cleanliness and management of disruptive customers are areas that really need attention.

I had been in this cinema before but, unfortunately, the last time was really disappointing. The only type of food which was more or less delicious and pleasant to eat was nachos. I decided to try a hot dog cause I was really hungry. Unfortunately, it was quite bland. While the sauces were provided at the counter, the hot dog was packed in such a package which made it impossible to put anything on top of it. In addition, all the hot dogs were pre-made which leaves you wondering for how long they had been just sitting behind the counter. Another issue I stumbled upon was popcorn. Which sounds ridiculous cause it’s the basic food in the cinema. If anything is supposed to be perfect here, it should be popcorn. I wanted to try salted caramel but upon trying it I realised it only had a salty flavour. The workers were not able to replace it and it seemed like this flavour of popcorn is just the same salted popcorn “advertised as salted caramel”? What a joke. Overall, I understand that this is not a cafe or a restaurant but one would still expect a better quality of food in a cinema 😐

Used to be one of my favourites around a decade ago so thought I'd try it out again tonight. Not bad at all though the seating in Screen 10 is wayyyyy too squeaky. For most of the movie, that's all you could hear. Other than that, the staff are lovely, lots of friendly faces and everyone working there courteous as ever. Top notch training.

We went to see Andre Rieu for tonight's screening. Screen 2 has some serious sound issues. The movie sounded closer to being played on a TV set than in a cinema. The sound was coming from just the front, no surround at all, and there was a humming in the background indicating the sound was coming out of the wrong channel. I'm sure I saw more than two speakers, around the screen hall no less. And only two seemed to be in use. Don't get me wrong, the orchestra was brilliant and sounds great on even the shabbiest of sound systems. But for the experience we had in this cinema you expect good quality, cinema level quality, not TV set mono sound. Even the ads before the movie start sounded terrible (no, not the content, higher pitched than need be and overall bad tone.) The screen in number 2 also seemed damaged, as if it was peeling off a bit on the right side. Sad experience.

Some reviews mention the service can be slow.
