This is such a great, free museum! Please show it some love and make a donation when you visit. The Gardens Through Time exhibit is absolutely lovely and well worth your time. The lower gallery takes you through several families/individuals as they explore what Home means to them and how home is created amd experienced throughout different cultures, backgrounds, and age groups. The upper gallery provides gorgeous examples of rooms from homes over four centuries. Really neat to see the recreated wallpapers and antique furnishings.

Incredible museum!! The rooms are incredible to see, very well put together, super well thought through, and very relevant and informative content. I went through all the text beside the rooms and the historical context is incredibly well provided and executed. I spent 1.5 hrs there going through 7 rooms. Absolutely loved it !

Lovely Museum. Great for children would highly recommend taking the tour of the almshouse which i found the most interesting part. Lovely big green lawn and benches and a back garden if it’s sunny. Sadly the cafe is closed but Breeze on Hoxton High street a few minutes away i would highly recommend

Free and fascinating museum with a wide range of objects spanning centuries. It’s a great place to learn, offering an engaging of different cultures and backgrounds, and painting a comprehensive picture of Londoners at home. The atmosphere is calm and enjoyable, and it wasn’t too busy, so I was able to explore without feeling rushed. The outdoor area is gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the 90s showcase home - it felt very nostalgic.
