About City Rooms

Middlesex St sits right on the edge of the City, one of those London streets where office towers give way to markets and old East End terraces, and it's here that City Rooms makes its home. The location puts Aldgate on the doorstep, with the financial district within easy reach for anyone visiting London on business or exploring on foot.

Rooms are kept simple, with drinks provided and the basics covered rather than any frills. A shared kitchen is available for guests who want to prepare their own food, and there's a laundry service for longer stays. Reception operates around the clock, so arrival times are flexible whatever your schedule.

Beyond the front door, the area is well stocked with pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries, along with entertainment options nearby, making it easy to fill an evening without travelling far. With 27 reviews averaging 3.7 out of 5, it suits guests after a straightforward, no-fuss base in a well-connected part of the city rather than a polished hotel experience.

Great service and reception from Ellie, thanks. Room was small but clean and secure. Fine for one night. Surprisingly quiet for the location, which is very City centric. Bathroom was a little shabby, but functional. It’s what you get for the money right?

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) During our recent stay in the city, my friend and I were fortunate enough to encounter Ali, who truly embodied the spirit of hospitality and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable and comfortable. From the moment we arrived, Ali's warm and welcoming demeanor immediately put us at ease. Our travel plans were somewhat hectic, causing us to arrive later than expected. However, Ali remained patient and understanding, going out of his way past his normal working hours to accommodate our late check-in, a gesture that instantly impressed us. Upon settling into the apartment, we were met with a spotlessly clean and well-appointed space that exceeded our expectations. Ali took the time to show us around and familiarize us with the amenities, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. What truly set Ali apart was his genuine concern for our well-being. Realizing we were new to the area, he graciously offered to drive us to the nearest Turkish restaurant that was open at the time, an offer we gladly accepted. Not only did he take us directly to the restaurant, but he also provided helpful recommendations from the menu, making sure we had a delightful culinary experience. Throughout our stay, Ali continued to look after us, always just a call away whenever we needed assistance or advice. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel as if we were staying with a caring friend rather than in a rented apartment. Ali's dedication to making our experience comfortable and enjoyable was truly commendable. His genuine kindness and personalized attention made all the difference, transforming what could have been just another night's stay into an unforgettable experience. We cannot thank Ali enough for going above and beyond to ensure our happiness during our time in the city. His exceptional service and warm hospitality have left a lasting impression on us, and we would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to seek out accommodations under Ali's care. If you are looking for a host who will treat you like family and create a home away from home, look no further than Ali. We are grateful for his kindness and will undoubtedly return to his apartment whenever we find ourselves in the area again. Thank you, Ali, for making our trip truly exceptional!

The place is not too visible and very easy to miss. Once you step inside it is quite a small place. But, if you need a simple room just to dump you luggage and go to work and a place to sleep at night, you won't be dissapointed. The room has the bare essentials needed for a stay with a very helpful staff named Rodin. There was a bit of difficulty locating the place. Rodiin went out of the way in spotting this lost traveller in the next street and guiding me to the hotel.
